Functional Art

We are a small family run business in the woods of Northern Ontario. Knitting, sewing and crocheting are our passions and we love to share our creations with you. Each item is handmade by one or all of us and we believe the love and energy that went into its creation will pass on to you.

Welcome our shop. Each of our items is uniquely handmade and/or embroidered by myself or one of my two daughters, thus making each original! Each garment has a label identifying that it is handmade in Canada and who the maker is.
We use only high quality materials in each of our designs and take pride in the quality of our workmanship. Between the three of us we have more than 50 years of experience, collectively.
We work in a smoke free, fragrance free, and pet free environment.

Returns and exchanges

Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, I can't accept returns for:
  • Custom or personalised orders
  • Perishable products (like food or flowers)
  • Digital downloads
  • Intimate items (for health/hygiene reasons)
  • Items on sale
Returns and exchange details
Although we are confident that you will be happy with your purchase, we will gladly refund purchases within Canada for the purchase price minus shipping and 10% restocking of any item if it is returned in new condition and you contact us within 3 days of receipt. We send all items out in new condition and will not be responsible for items damaged or lost in transit. It is your choice to add insurance to your package to protect against possible loss or damage in transit.

Return shipping will be at the buyer's expense and a refund minus a 10% restocking fee will be issued once we have received and inspected the item to be in new condition.

If you would prefer to exchange for an item of equal or more value, we will be happy to do this (again you must contact us within 3 days of receipt). The buyer will be responsible for the difference of pricing and shipping both ways.

Any items that have been personalized are final sales and non refundable.
Payment
We accept Visa, American Express, Master Card and Discover Card as well as Etsy gift cards as method of payment.
Shipping
Canadian & U.S. packages with a total shipping charge of $12.00 Canadian or more are sent with INSURANCE and TRACKING NUMBER. If the shipping is less, the package will NOT HAVE A TRACKING NUMBER OR INSURANCE unless you choose that option during check out. Shipments to all other destinations will NOT include tracking number unless specifically requested. Our customs form and/or post office receipt will serve as proof of shipment.

All packages are shipped through Canada Post. Canadian orders are usually received within 7-10 business days. US orders usually arrive within 12-15 days or sooner depending on customs. Over seas can take up to 12 weeks. ***Please understand that we have no control over shipping time, your patience and understanding is appreciated***.

Customers outside of Canada - you are responsible for any custom/ duty charges that may apply. Contact your local post office for information. We will not accept any returns due to custom/ duty charges.

If you are in the nearby vicinity, and wish to pick up your order, please contact us before placing your order, and we will provide you with a code to bypass shipping.

We try our best to accurately depict the color of each item in our photographs, however colors may vary depending on the computer screen. We try and accommodate for any variations by giving a color description. Please take this into consideration when making your purchase. Thank you.
