Being Store Story
Mi nombre es Hanneke Wetzer y soy la orgullosa propietaria de La BeingStore.
Vivo y trabajo en Strijp-S, una antigua fábrica de Philips en Eindhoven, Países Bajos. Sin Philips, Eindhoven probablemente seguiría siendo una colección de un par de pequeños pueblos. Debido al gran empleo que creó la empresa, Philips convirtió el pequeño pueblo de Eindhoven en una ciudad. Pero precisamente cuando Philips se fue a Ámsterdam y a muchos otros lugares del mundo, la multinacional hizo posible que la antigua zona industrial Strijp-S volviera a florecer. Ahora Strijp-S está creciendo aún más, como el nuevo corazón cultural de Eindhoven.
En la BeingStore vendo un peepshow de Seres mínimos, estéticos, surrealistas, dibujos que hago directamente sobre papel sin saber el resultado final. Para mí es un viaje diario a través de mi cerebro creativo y cada día sigo sorprendiéndome. Después de exhibir 366 Seres (todos Seres del año 2016) comencé a venderlos. Debido a que noté que la gente realmente amaba 'm, seguí haciéndolos diariamente y comencé BeingStore en Etsy.
En Strijp-S tengo un estudio para trabajar, pero mis Seres se hacen principalmente en casa como un ritual matutino diario. Disfrutando de un café y de la obstinada curiosidad de mi gato creo nuevos seres humanos en mi gran mesa de madera. No hago un boceto, dibujo directamente sobre papel y me reto por la regla No está obligado a tirar un Ser, por lo que la realización implica hiperenfoque y permite sorpresas. Dato curioso: uno de mis Seres contiene una de saliva de mi gato, un disonante de bienvenida ;-)
Mis habilidades especiales son mi fuente inagotable de creatividad en formas mínimas, y la firmeza de mi mano de dibujo. Mis Seres diariamente me proporcionan una experiencia de meditación zen.
My name is Hanneke Wetzer and I'm the proud owner of the BeingStore.
I live and work at Strijp-S, a former Philips factory in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. Without Philips, Eindhoven would probably still be a collection of a couple of tiny villages. Because of the great employment that the company created, Philips turned the small village of Eindhoven into a city. But precisely when Philips left for Amsterdam and many other places around the world, the multinational made it possible for former industrial area Strijp-S to flourish again. Now Strijp-S is even growing bigger, as the new cultural heart of Eindhoven.
In the BeingStore I sell a peepshow of minimal, aesthetic, surreal Beings, drawings I directly make on paper without knowing the end result. For me it's a daily journey through my creative brain and every day I keep on surprising myself. After exhibiting 366 Beings (all Beings from year 2016) I started selling them. Because I noticed people really loved 'm, I kept on making them daily and started the BeingStore on Etsy.
At Strijp-S I have a studio to work in, but my Beings are mainly made home as a daily morning ritual. Enjoying a coffee and the stubborn curiosity of my cat I create new human beings on my large wooden table. I don't make a sketch, I draw directly on paper and I challenge myself by the rule It's not obliged to throw a Being away, so the making involves hyperfocus and allows surprises. Funny fact: one of my Beings contains a saliva slobber from my cat, a welcome dissonant ;-)
My special skills are my inexhaustible source of creativity in minimal forms, and the firmness of my drawing hand. My Beings daily provide me with a zen meditation experience.
