Hello, welcome and thank you for your interest in Up-cycled fashion at Bloomingdale Boutique. It's situated in Bloomingdale, Pennsylvania a town on the skirts of Sweet Valley and Hunlock Creek Pennsylvania. Previously our shop was Shaby Vintage for 11 Years on Etsy and changed Jan 2022. I opened a Bridal boutique and Sewing shop in town and pursued a life-long dream with my mom Carol.

Tidbits about me....
I studied 1 year of Fashion Merchandising at Liberty University in Virginia. I Loved that place and the Southern warmth, yet I was a misfit as a fashion student. I disliked perfection in high school sewing classes yet won states at ACE competition for a lined Linen suit, and the next year for a Cinderella ball gown. Still not my thing... I didn't like pin tucks, matching plaids, hidden seams and reading patterns. It was then that I realized my mom (mother of 5 and master seamstress) could teach me more. I worked at Fashion Bug as display coordinator and a nurse assistant while pursuing an RN nursing degree at my home town college. I began this shop after collecting vintage embroidered pillowcases and making little girls dresses with them. I gave them as gifts to friends and saw how people truly valued them Old...made new!

I love working with kids! I started this shop in 2011, to help pay for my 3 boys activities while still getting the creative jitters out.

I work in Pediatrics Perdiem as an RN. I have 3 grown children, and am married to a builder. I took over my husband's office space when he needed more space for our construction business. I gave up being his secretary as well while raising boys.

In 2022 we purchased a 1800s Victorian Era House in town and flipped the interior making it a lifelong dream a Bridal Boutique/Sewing shop. We service our community with alterations and wedding gown fittings along custom children's attire.

I desire for people to see value in Altered Couture clothing. Being 5ft tall and learning as a young girl how to fit and alter my own attire is when it all began.
Purchasing these items helps support my local community. I Reconstruct/deconstruct clothing, denim, cotton, lace, and buttons in these designs for you. All items are hand washed some are hand dipped and dyed before Re-construction and ready to be worn.
