Announcement   Somewhere in the dust and decay of life's forgotten travellers artist Amanda Bullick sees a beauty that inspires creation. She collects the ruins once inhabited by blood and breath and after ceremony is given to honour each creature's passing, she leans into the wonder of transformation. Pondering the cycles of life and death and rebirth the works conjure a sense of earthy connectedness as well as a sacred sense of magic; like altars honouring the dearly departed and the stories of their wild lives that they took with them. The natural world, although it is all around us, never ceases to dazzle with its quiet secrets and mysteries and Brutally Beautiful's work wanders into those dim lit places, lighting the way for our hearts to follow in search of something grand and familiar.

About

Welcome to the World of Brutally Beautiful

Pondering the cycles of life and death and rebirth, Amanda's work conjures a sense of earthy connectedness as well as a sacred sense of magic; like altars honouring the dearly departed and the stories of their wild lives that they took with them. The natural world, although it is all around us, never ceases to dazzle with its quiet secrets and mysteries and Brutally Beautiful's work wanders into those dim lit places, lighting the way for our hearts to follow in search of something grand and familiar.

Amanda is a photographer by trade but has slowly been called to collecting bones. Why bones? There seems to be a deeper calling to not only collect bones but to honor these dearly departed creatures that left their bodies behind. She has found ways to honor them by lovingly collecting each creature, having a smudging ceremony for it and then helping it rebirth into art that may be loved once again.

Her love runs a screen printing shop called Prints of Darkness (http://www.printsofdarknesstshirts.com/) who does all of the printing for Brutally Beautiful.
