The chicken armor came as described. They were reasonably easy to put on, considering chickens never really like being dressed at the best of times! Once on, the hens soon grew used to them and are able to move naturally and preen themselves around it. They stay clean most of the time and I haven't had to wash any of them yet. They offer some protection for my hens from the roosters and helped one of our hens survive being grabbed by a fox. I'd give five stars to this product if it had a wider flap at the back, for example a t-shape, as our hens are still getting scratched either side of the saddle, on the ribs, by the roosters. The hen that survived the fox attack was injured in the area where the back of the saddle lifts up. All in all an excellent idea, well worth the price, and I hope ChickenArmor continues to develop it!

I have to leave an unfortunate review. Three messages went unanswered over the weeks that I waited. The items I ordered were never shipped. Etsy customer service helped me with my refund. I do hope that the seller is safe and in good health.

My hens had their backs plucked from having too many roosters earlier in the year, and their back feathers were not regrowing even though I reduced to a single rooster. I imagine they may have been plucking the new feathers themselves from itchiness. I found out about this product and figured it was worth a try. I'm happy to say their backs are no longer red and swollen and their feathers are beginning to grow back. The standard size fit my birds perfectly and I would definitely recommend this product!

Not even a one star for these Chicken saddles. My Buffs are regular sized girls and there is no way these fit on them and if they did the portion of the back that the rooster hits is not even covered. Want a refund.

They worked okay in a pinch but most of my flock ended up needing wing protection, as well as back protection. So I use these on my roo's least favorite girls. Easy to put on and work as advertised.

Hi, I received my chicken saddles a few days ago and they seem to be working really well so far! A really simple design that is very easy to clean, and my hens have not managed to escape them like they have with the cloth ones! I'm very happy with the value of my purchase as well, as I received 10 of these chicken saddles for the price of one cloth one. Great product!

So far, these are staying on my birds better than fabric saddles did. They were easy enough to put on them, too.
