Never too late to make a difference

Ciclomanias is a social enterprise that offers a wide variety of upcycled art and crafts, including DIY kits and provides art and science- based programs.
At Ciclomanias, we love upcycling, for those new to this concept, upcycling is also known as creative reuse.

It is the process of transforming unwanted products into new materials or products of better quality and environmental value. It offers a unique approach to learning about sustainable lifestyles in a fun and enjoyable manner.

I particularly love it, because it combines two of my passions in life, nature and art. Nature has been always a source of inspiration for me. I see my artwork as a tribute to nature’s magnificence and a way to protect it. I enjoy upcycling unwanted materials and to transform these ordinary materials into something full of colors and personality that deserves a longer life.

These two elements are also wonderful means to connect with a diverse group of people, from kindergarten kids to seniors. It allows people to connect, build communities while preserving our environment. This is how Ciclomanias started.
I co-founded Ciclomanias almost 20 years ago when I was studying biology in Mexico. I wanted to raise awareness about our beautiful environment and mobilize communities towards environmental action and the best way to do it was through upcycling activities. So, I started connecting seniors with undergraduate students in upcycling activities through a volunteer program I developed and implemented back home when I was an undergraduate student. The program was called “Never too late to make a difference”. It was a great way to connect Art, environmental conservation while building communities. These workshops helped both generations to talk about environmental issues, particularly waste in a fun, artistic and productive way. The handicrafts made during these sessions were sold and provided an extra income for the seniors that otherwise had limited job opportunities.
This was the beginning of Ciclomanias’ holistic approach to integrate the three pillars of Sustainability by protecting our environment with productive and artistic activities while empowering vulnerable groups.

We are looking forward to continue growing our social enterprise and we know the only way to accomplish this is with your support. So, I invite new and old customers to support our work and join us to make a difference in this world.

Thank you!

- Elizabeth

I have been always inspired by the simplicity and the power of nature, which has influenced my professional and personal beliefs. I co-founded Ciclomanias, a social enterprise that upcycle unwanted items into beautiful and useful Art and Crafts.
