Do I need to print everything?
No. The full case works on screen. For a tactile game, print the Player Evidence packet and any optional worksheets.
Does someone have to host?
No. Reader's Mode is fully self-guided. Director's Mode is an optional performance layer for groups that want a more theatrical evening.
Is this a murder mystery?
No. The case has intrigue and meaningful stakes without murder, gore, or graphic content.
How many people can play?
One to six investigators. It works especially well for couples, families with teens, and small game-night groups.
What if we get stuck?
Use one of three progressive hints per objective, or open the optional offline Case Checker. Wrong guesses do not reveal the answer.
Is the case historically true?
The mystery and characters are fictional. General period context is source-backed and separated from the story in the Archivist's Afterword.
Can I use it in a classroom, library, camp, or paid event?
The personal edition does not include organizational or paid-event rights. Contact Curio Caseworks through Etsy Messages for the appropriate license.
Can digital products be returned?
