Hola, mi nombre es Jody. Soy la madre de cinco y Nana de doce hermosos nietos. Me encanta hacer artículos hechos a mano. Aprendí a coser en la máquina Treadle de mi abuela a la edad de 6 años, a pesar de que nunca vi a mi abuela coser una sola cosa. No estoy seguro de si ella sabía cómo. Fue mi madre la que me enseñó a coser. Cuando era adolescente, estaba haciendo edredones, cortinas y regalos para la gente. Les enseñé a mis hijos que un regalo no necesitaba ser comprado en la tienda. Un regalo hecho con tus manos le muestra a esa persona cuánto la amas y la cuidas. Mi familia me ha estado animando durante años a compartir mis dones con los demás. Me encanta coser y ver cómo una pieza se une, pero mi parte favorita del proceso es ver cómo hace feliz a otra persona. Mi esperanza es que encuentres algo que te traiga una sonrisa a la cara o algo que sepas que un ser querido adorará.

Hi, my name is Jody. I am the mother to five and Nana to twelve beautiful grandchildren. I love making handmade items. I learned to sew on my grandmother’s Treadle machine at the age of 6, even though I never saw my grandmother sew a single thing. I’m not sure if she even knew how. It was my mother that taught me to sew. By the time I was a teenager, I was making quilts and curtains and gifts for people. I taught my children that a gift didn’t need to be store-bought. A gift made with your hands shows that person how much you love and care for them. My family has been encouraging me for years to share my gifts with others. I love to sew and watch a piece come together, but my favorite part of the process is seeing how it makes someone else happy.
