Embroidery: following the thread.
La pasión por las cosas hermosas simplemente no crece en los árboles. Nos rodea y con el tiempo, se hace cargo.
A medida que pasan los años, comienzas a apreciar lo que está cerca de ti. Las servilletas de la abuela bordadas con un majestuoso monograma familiar y recortadas con encajes hechos a mano fueron el comienzo para Félix cuando era un niño pequeño en Argentina.
A partir de 1969 fueron años de diseño de interiores de lujo y coleccionismo de textiles y artículos bordados europeos y asiáticos.
Mientras tanto, en México, un niño se acercó a un padre artista mientras ayudaba a su abuelo en el dorado y la restauración de altares barrocos en iglesias del siglo XVII.
El amor por el bordado comenzó para Manuel mientras contemplaba las brillantes vestiduras eclesiásticas almacenadas en las sacristías.
Luego vinieron los ardientes bordados folclóricos de Oaxaca e Hidalgo con improbables pájaros y flores y toda la historia romántica de la tradición y la cultura mexicana.
Más tarde, las carreras de la escuela, el arte y la arquitectura mientras dominaba las acuarelas.
Hace diez años chocaron estrellas, se intercambiaron ideas y nació "Embroidery Collection".
Felix Achenbach y Manuel Lira comparten un hilo conductor que fluye a la perfección en el diseño y la producción de colecciones bordadas únicas en su estudio en el entorno tropical de Miami.

Passion for beautiful things just does not grow on trees. It surrounds us and in time, takes over.
As the years go by you start appreciating what is close to you. Grandmother's napkins embroidered with a stately family monogram and trimmed with handmade lace were the beginning for Felix as a little boy in Argentina.
From 1969 on were years of designing luxury interiors and collecting textiles and embroidered European and Asian items.
Meanwhile in Mexico, a child grew close to an artist father while helping his grandfather in the gilding and restoring of baroque altars in XVII century churches.
The love for embroidery started for Manuel while gazing on shimmering ecclesiastical vestments stored in the sacristies.
Then came the fiery folkloric embroideries from Oaxaca and Hidalgo with improbable birds and flowers and the whole romantic history of tradition and Mexican culture.
Later on school, art and architecture careers while mastering watercolors.
Ten years ago stars collided, ideas were exchanged and "Embroidery Collection" was born.
Felix Achenbach and Manuel Lira share a common thread that seamlessly flows into designing and producing unique embroidered collections in their studio in Miami's tropical surroundings.
