From Past to Future, Italian Tradition

Na vele jaren training met het merk Il Gatto Fuxia, heb ik onlangs in december 2020 mijn eigen Bindery geopend: een echte winkel voor mijn klanten, vooral een lab waar alle producten exclusief door mij worden gemaakt. Elk item dat ik heb gemaakt is een product van uren onderzoek en oefening, en de aandacht voor de details is totaal.
De technieken die ik gebruik komen uit oude tradities, en uit het verleden praten ze met ons, ze vertellen verhalen over hard werken en respect voor de materialen, respect vooral voor mijn grootste liefde: het Boek.
Als ambachtsman experimenteer ik het grootste deel van de tijd, maar ook alle technieken die ik dagelijks gebruik hebben een duizendjarige geschiedenis: ze praten over verleden en hard werken aan datgene waar ik het meest van hou: boeken, in elke vorm.
Ik definieer mezelf nederig artisanaal, ook al is dit woord in de loop van de tijd behoorlijk vervormd. Ambachtslieden zijn creatievelingen, ze bewaren het verleden in hun kunstwerken en door hun talent hebben ze de brug geslagen tussen het echte en datgene dat nog niet is bedacht.

After many years of training with the brand Il Gatto Fuxia, I've recently opened my own Bindery in December 2020: a real shop for my customers, above all, a lab where all the products are made exclusively by me. Every item I made is a product of hours of research and practice, and the attention to the details is total.
The techniques I use came from ancient traditions, and from the past they are talking to us, they're telling stories of hard work and respect for the materials, respect above all for my biggest love: the Book.
As an artisan I experiment most of the time, but also, all the techniques that I daily use have a millenary history: they talk about past and hard work on the thing that I love most: books, in every form.
I humbly define myself Artisan, even if this word has been quite distorted during time. Artisans are creatives, they keep the past in their artworks, and by their talent they built the bridge between the real and that thing that has not been figured yet.
