Hi! I'm Shirona, the artist behind FernlightOddities.

I’ve loved making art for as long as I can remember — it’s always been a deep passion of mine. I’m endlessly fascinated by the wonders of the natural world, and one way I show my love is by preserving the beauty that nature leaves behind.

I work with earth-born materials, such as clay, dried/preserved flora, and ethically sourced animal remains, to create pieces that honor both life and what comes after it. I’ve always believed that there is a quiet beauty in death — something not dark or frightening, but peaceful, delicate, and deserving of appreciation. Through my work, I try to give these remnants a new story, a new purpose, and a new life.

Whether it’s crafting jewelry, preserving insects and arthropods, or shaping stoneware pottery, my goal is to create art that helps others see the beauty I see in nature, in all its stages.

All bones, insects, and natural remains I use are ethically obtained — either naturally found, responsibly collected, or purchased from trusted suppliers who follow sustainable and cruelty-free practices. No animals are ever harmed for my art.
