A Llama and Me

A wild llama roaming the fields of northern British Columbia is about to become dog food, but so far he has evaded his hunters. A whisper reaches us that if we could catch him, we could keep him.

You guessed it, we found him and he just waltzed right into the trailer we had borrowed!

TomBurke was the first of many and since then, The Llama Sanctuary has rescued a great many animals. Homes are found for the majority of the llamas and alpacas that find their way to The Llama Sanctuary, but still The Sanctuary is home for between 30 to 40 llamas and alpacas at any given time. That requires a lot of time and a lot of money and that’s what this Etsy store is all about: raising funds for The Llama Sanctuary. Every penny goes to help the animals in need.

You might notice that we don’t actually have much alpaca yarn in store. That’s because we don’t have a large supply of it. But we love working with it and you will find many videos and articles on our main website www.FABinBC.com showing the many and varied projects involving weaving, spinning, felting, knitting, crochet and even fibre processing.

So when you are admiring the projects you make with the fibre and yarn we supply, take a moment to feel good, knowing that, because of your craft or gift, a little more love has gone forth into the world.

With our Blessings

Lynne and David

Knitted my first sweater when I was 3 months old, I talk to llamas and I fly with the faeries. I also have an over-sized imagination, which is why I love BIG yarn!

  • Our processing mill

    NB, Canada

We have worked with our fiber processor for many years, due to the great care they take in keeping he fiber from our alpaca herd separate from others and for the exceptional quality of their processing.

  • Virginia Hall

Artist and writer Virginia Hall loves llamas. She has provided homes for rescued llamas from The llama sanctuary and her much loved 'Amigo' has now retired to The Llama Sanctuary. Season's in the Life of a Llama Meadow is a gift to raise money for the rescued llamas.
