where clay meets fibre

I make porcelain and stoneware home décor, jewelry and buttons that are influenced by textiles and the needle arts (knitting, crochet , tatting, lacemaking, embroidery and others).
I have my parents to thank for my interest in the hand-made and the reclaimed. Farmers on the Canadian prairies need a high degree of self-reliance. My parents built our home, furnishings and farm equipment; sewed and knit and mended; painted and repaired; and gardened and preserved.
But I was attracted to art and theatre and the city lights, and spent a career working in the government department that supports arts, heritage and creative industries. Outside of work, I raised a family, volunteered in my community, continued the family traditions – gardening, old house restoration, sewing and needle craft-- and added dabbling in ceramics and glass. Recently retired, I have turned to ceramics with a new passion.

Hello !! Thanks so much for visiting my shop. With all the wonderful work on Etsy, I’m thrilled that you’ve stopped to look at mine.

I create all items I sell at an artists co-operative or in my home. My work is made from thin slabs of clay or liquid clay (slip). I pay special attention to surfaces (infusing beautiful textures and colours, carefully applying terra sigillata, slips and glazes ) and to edges and finishing (smoothing, rounding and polishing).

All pieces are fired to to around 2200° F (1200° C) in either their first or second firing, ensuring full vitrification of the clay. Food-safe glazes are used on serving items.

Porcelain and stoneware items are durable but should be handled with care nonetheless, Hand washing is recommended.

I hope you enjoy looking around. Please feel free to convo me if you have any questions while you're looking through my shop. And please check in often. I love to offer new designs.

Shipping costs are an unfortunate aspect of shopping online. Like most Etsy sellers I do what I can to keep the costs as low as possible.

READY TO SHIP items are shipped 3-5 business days after payment clears.
MADE TO ORDER items will be shipped out from 3-6 weeks from the time of ordering.

The average delivery time to Canada and USA is 5-7 business days. Delivery times are estimates, not guarantees, and based on the average time most orders took to arrive.

CANADIAN SHIPPING: I ship by Canada Post Lettermail for most items weighing no more than 17 ounces or 500 grams (including packaging). For larger or heavier items I use Regular Parcel through Canada Post. If you would like upgraded shipping or if you need to have your purchase by a specific date, please contact me before you place your order.

COMBINED SHIPPING: Multiple items usually ship for considerably less than the total of their individual shipping rates. I refund excess shipping as soon as I have calculated the difference.

Please double check your shipping address at checkout. I use the address on file with Etsy. You can edit the address at checkout if needed.

To save on trees I do not include invoices inside your package. Your receipt is always available under "purchases" in your shop

Pick up arrangements can be made for buyers in my local area. Please contact me.
Additional policies and FAQs
I offer wholesale and consignment only to local area outlets at this time.

I can handle only a limited number of special orders (I’m a one-woman show after all). But feel free to convo me anyway if you have an idea. You never know ….

I use only as much packaging material (preferably recycled) as needed to ensure your purchase arrives safely. And I package it as flat as possible to keep shipping costs down.
