"You Could Sell Those"
Alla fine del 2019, io e mia moglie incinta stavamo progettando e decorando l'asilo nido per la nostra prima figlia di prossima nascita, Emmaline.
Se Emmaline fosse qualcosa di simile a noi, abbiamo ragionato, avrebbe avuto un'anima avventurosa. E così abbiamo scelto un tema di viaggio. Quando è arrivato il momento di scegliere i poster, volevamo sceglierne quelli che rappresentavano i parchi nazionali che Emmaline aveva visitato mentre era ancora nel grembo materno.
Pensavo che avrei preso una crepa contro di loro. Per tutta la mia vita, ho amato i poster di viaggio WPA degli anni 1930 e 1940. E volevo creare poster che catturassero, o almeno rendessero omaggio a quello stile vintage. Così i primi tre poster, Glacier, Acadia e Banff, furono presto progettati, incorniciati e appesi al muro del nostro bambino non ancora nato.
Un giorno, mentre stavamo mettendo insieme la culla, mia moglie disse: "Sai, potresti vendere quei poster". E così, proprio nello stesso periodo di Emmaline, è nato Go See Design.
Ora offriamo tutti i parchi nazionali degli Stati Uniti, oltre ad altre destinazioni statunitensi e internazionali, tutti nello stesso stile vintage. In late 2019, my pregnant wife and I were designing and decorating the nursery for our soon-to-be-born first child, Emmaline.
If Emmaline was anything like us, we reasoned, she'd possess an adventurous soul. And so we chose a travel theme. When it came time to choose posters, we wanted to pick ones representing the national parks Emmaline had visited while still in the womb.
I thought I'd take a crack at them. My whole life, I have loved the WPA travel posters of the 1930s and 1940s. And I wanted to create posters that captured, or at least paid homage to, that vintage style. So the first three posters, Glacier, Acadia, and Banff, were soon designed, framed, and hung on the wall of our unborn child.
One day as we were putting together the crib, my wife said, "You know, you could sell those posters." And so, right around the same time as Emmaline, Go See Design was born.
We now offer all of the United States' national parks, plus other US and international destinations, all in that same vintage style. We thank you for visiting and hope you love our shop. We're adding more to Emmaline's walls all the time, as she visits new places.
