Olá, eu sou Amy French. Eu desenho, cortei à mão, teco e costundo juntos acessórios adaptáveis e aconchegantes de clima frio do meu estúdio em Ancaster, Ontário, Canadá.
Com um legado de mulheres astutas na minha vida, há muito tempo me inspiro a criar. Mas só depois de decidir ficar em casa de uma carreira na publicidade, para criar nossas lindas gêmeas, Iyla & Mason foi a Grey Matter Collection nascida.
Experimentando com sobras de lã, fiz meu primeiro grande cachecol de tecelagem e logo percebi o potencial. Cowls, wraps, estilos infinitos, este cachecol conversível multi-estilo torna possível inúmeros olhares devido ao seu lindo design de tecelagem aberta.
Inspirado em padrões clássicos de tecelagem herringbone, eu reimaginei uma tecelagem herringbone em grande escala. Adoro que a textura tecida esteja na vanguarda de seu design estético e vestível. Eu sabia que tinha que compartilhar o que tinha descoberto ao criar minhas peças com os outros para que eles usassem.
Hello, I am Amy French. I design, hand-cut, weave and sew together adaptable & cozy cold-weather accessories from my home studio in Ancaster, Ontario, Canada.
With a legacy of crafty women in my life, I have long been inspired to create. But only after deciding to stay home from a career in advertising, to raise our beautiful twins, Iyla & Mason was The Grey Matter Collection born.
Experimenting with leftover fleece, I made my first large weave scarf and soon realized the potential. Cowls, wraps, infinity styles, this multi-style, convertible scarf makes countless looks possible because of its’ gorgeous open weave design.
Inspired by classic herringbone weave patterns, I reimagined a herringbone weave on a large scale. I love that the woven texture is at the forefront of both its aesthetic and wearable design. I knew I had to share what I had discovered in creating my pieces with others for them to enjoy.
