We are sisters who are also illustrators. Jeri is a watercolour artist and Jayleen is a marker artist. Both with a passion for nature.

Jayleen: My love lies in illustration and comics and classical animation. I also love pets so Cartoon Pet portraits seemed like a good direction for me. I was doing them unofficially for a long time, with so many requests I thought that Etsy might be a better place for me! I went to Vancouver Film School for animation and worked in several Vancouver based Studios before dedicating my time to illustration and comics. I am certified in Copic markers and previously did tutorials for Imagination International. I have also done animation freelance and some illustration for kids books. I have many certificates in Dinosaur related courses because dinosaurs are life! <3
My main project has been Hello, Albertosaurus, my graphic novel nerdy adventure comic which is currently fundraising on indiegogo!

Jeri: I am a comic book artist and a watercolourist. I spend most of my time researching and drawing early humans, extinct animals, cryptids and natural history. Like my sister my passion lies in comics and illustration. I worked at Vancouver film School and Monkey Paw studio in vancouver as well as illustration for kids books and film. Now I focus my time working on illustrating and changing my mind between whether bigfoot exists or not.

We have a few cats and bunnies and they keep us distracted and leave cat fur on everything ❤️

Frequently asked questions
Care instructions

For Custom Pet Portraits:

Please do not display them in direct sunlight.
They will fade over time if exposed to too much light.
If you frame them I recommend Museum glass, or UV glass or Plexi. I do NOT recommend non glare as it lets more light to the image. When framing do not let the image touch the glass. Over time it will stick and be destroyed (This goes for all framing). Having a mat or frame spacers in front of the image keeps them away from the glass.
Please use acid free/ archival quality materials in the matting and backing material to protect the art from damage.

Watercolour original care/framing

The best way to care for your original watercolour painting is to put it in a frame as soon as possible. They are matted to fit easily into standard/common frame sizes to make sure you will have no problem finding frames that fit the art and your decor.
If you are going to be hanging them in rooms with a lot of natural/direct light, you can protect them by upgrading your glass to UV protective glass, however the paint and paper are archival professional grade paints and fading/colour shifting should be minimal even in those conditions.

Colour approximation with original art

Reproducing original artwork is difficult, we have used a variety of photos and scans using full spectrum and regular lighting to help give you as close an approximation as possible. Due to screen setting variations, lighting variation and other variable the colours may not be exactly as shown.

Can you draw me a logo? How much for ____ for a logo?

If you need a logo you need to hire a graphic designer to make sure that you get a product that will be the most value to you and have the proper licensing for commercial use.
Its not that I cant do it, I just think that there is the right person for every job and I am not the right person for that job.
I'm an illustrator doing custom pet portraits because I love pets and want to draw for people who love their pets.

Can us use your art on products I create?

My art is created for personal use/ display and I do not grant licensing for it to be printed on other material or products.
If you want to simply make one article of clothing with the image I can arrange that by printing it myself and will charge you the cost of converting the image to a printable file and the cost of the item.

I will not give you a printable file.

Please understand that artists rights are often infringed on and we have to protect ourselves in these ways.
