Paintings and prints by Sean and Alison Hatter

We are two artists raising a family and trying to find the balance between the fleeting and the eternal.

Sean was raised in rural Franklin County, Virginia. He pursued a Bachelor of Art degree from Roanoke College where he studied painting, sculpture, and ceramics. Skilled in figure and landscape painting, he presents his subjects in a realist or impressionist fashion with a heightened sense of mood through lighting and color. After graduating college, Sean exhibited his work in many shows including the Roanoke College Biennial Exhibition (where he won first place) and the City Art Show for several years.

Alison was raised in rural Floyd County, Virgina, and as a child was influenced by science fiction and fantasy books as well as their cover art. Because of her love of story, Alison concentrated her interest in Illustration and Graphic Design at Virginia Commonwealth University, where she had the privilege of working under talented professionals in those respective fields. She graduated with honors and has illustrated several small children's books for a local maker of rocking horses.

Sean and Alison met while working at an art gallery and frame shop and later married and moved to Floyd, where they now live and are raising a family. Though their artwork is on the side at this time, it remains a passion for them as Sean continues to paint landscapes and portraits and Alison paints fantasy genre images.
