Homestead Emporium, specializing in hand dyed reusable cloth products for women since 2004.

Hello and welcome to our store! We're so happy you have taken the time to stop by and visit us!

We are a family run business with myself Pieternella (nicknamed Peggy) in charge of the creating, designing, hand dyeing, photography, and sewing of all our products. I've been sewing since I was about 18 years of age, but the arrival of my children many years ago caused my love of sewing to grow and flourish in ways I never imagined. I have been creating and sharing cloth products since 2004! Our products are used and loved all over the WORLD! Running a business has been a dream of mine since I was just a child. Art & working with my hands has always been a passion but since having 5 children & a homestead there hasn't been a whole lot of time for sketching, painting, and other art forms and so began my love of creating beauty and luxury in everyday practical items.

"Time is my only limit, my creativity is endless..."

My husband helps with the shipping by making trips to the post office! We live quite rural and must take all our packages to the post office for shipping and to pick up our mail!

All our children have helped in countless ways over the years, wherever their own talents fit, and wherever their hearts desire. Now grown, only three of them continue to work for Homestead Emporium on a very small part time basis. The business has always evolved, and a new season has come upon us with grown children now either living on their own, working out of the home, or off to college/university! This leaves me back to doing most things myself, and while the workload is sometimes large for one person, I have quite enjoyed 'reclaiming' the business as my own once again!

In 2013 we finally became owners of a small homestead on the prairies of Saskatchewan. Here we share our days with horses, sheep, pigs, chickens, ducks, geese, pigeons, doves, dogs, and cats. Oh, and a parrot rather than a partridge in a pear tree. If we're not busy creating things in the sewing studio, you can find us in our very large garden, the small fruit orchard, in the barn watching lambs or piglets being born, or simply enjoying the great outdoors. We also love camping in our 'spare' time.

When you purchase products from Homestead Emporium, you can feel good knowing you are helping to support our desire to create a lifestyle that we can be proud of. Since 2004 this business has allowed me to be home with our children, and now home on our homestead even though the children don't need me quite so much any more. :)

For more info about us and our lifestyle, we'd love to have you join us on our facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/HomesteadEmporium/
Or find us on instagram, HomesteadEmporium

Thank you for stopping by and for your continued support over all these many years since 2004! We truly appreciate you and look forward to creating for you for many more years to come!

A little about Homestead Emporium.

We are a family run business with Pieternella at the heart of it all. I love designing new products for the family. Our Homestead Emporium Reusable Pads (H.E.R.Pads) and reusable luxury cloth items are the main product line you'll find here but I like to create some other things here and there as well! Reusable cloth products are a great alternative for the health & wellness of the whole family!

Our family resides on a small homestead in the rural prairies of Canada. A dream of ours for many years and it finally become our reality in 2013. If you'd like to read more about our adventures from West Coast city, to rural prairies, we share more on our blog: http://homesteademporiumblog.com/

When you purchase products from Homestead Emporium, you can feel good knowing you are helping to support one family's desire to live and grow a healthy rural home based lifestyle.

For this, we truly thank you!

Returns and exchange details
If you have a problem with one of our products, please email us at HomesteadEmporium [!at] gmail.com . We will not be aware of the problem unless you, our customer, tells us about it.

We fix our snaps, however, you will need to ship your Homestead Emporium product back to us (email us first though!) and we will remove any defective snaps, replace them with new ones, and ship it back to you. You pay shipping to us, we pay the shipping back to you.

We offer many styles and sizes, because so many women have different needs. This can also cause some confusion as to what's best for you though. We are here to help you try and decide which products will work best for YOU and your personal cycle.

We recommend that you buy a couple of the pad sizes/styles that you feel will work best for you, and then try them first! If you are unsure, don't invest in a large quantity of pads until speaking with us first, or trying a few sizes/styles out.

Due to the nature of most of our products, exchanges can only be made for items that are unused, unwashed, and remain in the original packaging. Returned products must be received by us before a new item will be shipped out. Trying out a few, or a sample package, will help you decide if it's the right choice, before you purchase a whole set. We try to keep sample packages and single pads in stock fairly regularly to give you an opportunity to try them out first.
Payment
Homestead Emporium accepts payments via paypal, credit cards & etsy gift cards via direct checkout.
If you are in Canada, we can accept email money transfers as well.
Delivery
All orders are shipped from the rural prairies of Canada within approx. 4-6 business days using airmail for all orders to the US and International and Canada post for orders within Canada unless expedited is available and within the shipping cost charged. Orders within Canada and to the USA should be expected to arrive within 3-6 weeks. International orders, please expect up to 4-8 weeks.

We ALWAYS do our very best to ship packages as soon as possible, however, the reality of the busyness and rural lifestyle we live makes it impossible to be super fast. Family, farm animals, and mishaps of homesteading along with having to drive to the nearest post office to drop off and pick up all mail, can get in the way and cause things to run off course.
We WILL always try our very best though!
Of that, you have our word!
Additional policies and FAQs
Here at Homestead Emporium, each item is individually crafted in our home. Flawless perfection can only be achieved on an assembly line, and is not my intention. Minor variations to products are to be expected on home sewn items. These minor imperfections and variations reinforce the fact that every article is made lovingly by hand and is indeed unique.

We strive for beauty, yet function in all our products. If you have a problem with one of our items, please contact me. When you purchase from Homestead Emporium, please keep in mind that you are purchasing from a family, not a large mass producing corporation. We always strive to do our very best and provide you with great quality. We are human though, not machines, and occasionally make a mistake. I am always willing to discuss issues with my customers. :)
