If you would like to preserve the wax in the fabric, please dry clean only. However, if you don't mind losing the wax finish, then machine wash on cold and line dry or tumble dry on low heat.

How Do I Remove the Adhesive Manufacturer's Labels?

The manufacturer's labels can be very annoying, but the easiest way to get them off is with a warm iron or steamer. You can check out my quick tutorial here:

What is the difference between ordering dashiki fabric by the yard versus the design panel?

Dashiki fabric ordered by the yard may or may not contain a full design panel (the full rectangular design). Yards are a standard 36" long.

Dashiki fabric order by the design panel will always contain the full rectangular design panel. If you are making some kind of clothing where pattern placement is important, then I recommend ordering by the panel which is a little smaller than a yard (usually anywhere from 31 -33"), but will give you exactly the part of the fabric that you need.

All fabric sold will always be shipped as 1 continuous piece, subject to availability. In the event continuous yardage is not available, we will contact you to give you an opportunity to cancel you order or choose a replacement fabric.

Do you accept Returns or Exchanges?

Returns and/or exchanges are only accepted in the event that the wrong item is sent or the item sent was defective.

Do you sell specific brands?

Unfortunately we sell specific patterns, not brands. While we strive to purchase fabrics from the same supplier, we are subject to the market forces of supply and demand and may have to switch suppliers when a particular pattern becomes available.

Therefore if you continuously order a particular pattern over time, you may receive a different brand from a different dye lot. Despite this, you will never receive different brands of the same pattern in a single order.

What happens to lost, stolen, or returned orders?

While rare, lost or stolen orders do happen. If your order is lost or stolen, you will need to contact the carrier to file a claim. Priority Mail carries a standard $50 insurance and additional insurance required must be purchased by the buyer.

For returned orders, you will be contacted to communicate the reason for the return. If the reason for the return is not our error, the buyer will be required to pay to re-ship the item. As we do not accept returns or cancellations, after 14 days, buyers who do not pay for re-shipping will be refunded for their purchase minus a 20% restocking fee and the original shipping amount paid.

What happens if I don't receive an exact yard of material?

Please understand that we purchase fabrics that are pre-folded by the manufacturer in approximately 6-12 yard increments, not on a bolt. In cutting the fabric, we generally follow the manufacturer's fold lines which may be up to 1.5" over or under per yard if there is any variation. This means that you may receive a piece of fabric that is not quite a yard. We do not charge for extra long pieces of fabric and do our best to catch fabric significantly below this range. However as long as the fabric falls within this range we will not issue a refund, exchange or discount unless you send us a message in advance to indicate that no amount of variation is acceptable.
