Living Off the Land and Loving Every Minute Of It!

I live on a 300 acre, historic farmstead in rural Ontario, Canada with my husband and absolutely love it! We free range our animals without any unnatural stuff; hormones, steriods or antibiotics. We use no pesticides or chemical fertilizers on our land.
I create using our sheeps wool and other pure wools making artisan yarns, hand dying & spinning and designing wool creations. I wrap my homemade soaps in wool, creating 'wooly soaps' that are exfoliating and luxurious at the same time. We enjoy making pure, old fashioned, smokey maple syrup in the spring time, boiling down over an open fire! The taste is awesome, not like "pure" maple syrup sold in stores. We don't use evaporators or lines, its collected in buckets,
the old school way.....lots of walking, lots of fresh air and exercise!
Be sure to visit my Art Studio on the farm during the Apsley Autumn Studio Tour, every September on the third weekend.
In 2012 we were Mother Earth News runner up for all North America as 'Homesteaders of the Year'. In 2011 we were presented 'Leadership in Agriculture' award for Peterborough County. And I've been a member of the Apsley Studio Tour since 2015, showcasing artisan wools and soaps.

My wool products come from the sheep we raise, free ranging and organic as well as other pure wools. Our Maple Syrup is made the old fashioned way, right here on our farm, no evaporators, hoses or tubes. It is boiled down over an open fire.
