Each piece of earrings is handcrafted from polymer clay, cured and assembled. All my signature pieces are carefully designed to be lightweight, comfortable and suitable for sensitive skin making them truly unique.
In a world where so much is mass produced, being able to offer you unique statement earrings that radiate your boldness and uniqueness and made with much attention to details bring me utmost joy.

How I stumbled upon designing and making Jewelry (long story ahead)
I used to ‘fix’ the jewelry I used to buy at the stores, using dad’s pliers, because they don’t truly fit my style. Then I started making pieces from scratch for myself, friends and family and was encouraged to take it a step further. I created YoYo’s Handmade Accessories in 2007. It was a successful side business for 7 years. Relocating to Canada from the middle east was the end of my side hustle. I tried to make it happen but it didn’t work. I kept making pieces for myself, friends and family. I stumbled upon other crafts and started another side hustle, while I was pregnant with my second child, YS Designs – custom decals for t-shirts, mugs and wine glasses, while working full time. It was such a great side hustle that offered a safe space for me to decompress and create creative designs. Crafting has always been my thing! I love diy projects, creating designs, learning how to use new software but I was itching to go back to jewelry.
Early 2020, I stumbled upon polymer clay and I gave it a go. I was on maternity leave with my second child, dealing with postpartum depression and anxiety during the first wave of the pandemic and a complete lockdown. I was home with my 2 kiddos + husband who was working from home. I was still running my other side hustle and polymer clay was a hobby that I didn’t know I needed. Working with polymer clay and creating jewelry pieces was such a nostalgia. I just can’t get enough of the possibilities this medium offers.
I knew I had to share my designs with the world! And so, I started another side hustle – Juniper Jewelry. I ran both side hustles and had a full-time job for around a year but in 2021 I had to say goodbye to YS Designs and focus on my true passion for jewelry making.
Running the business
Running a business is hectic sometimes, especially when you have a full time job, 2 little humans and a household to take care of as well. Juniper Jewelry is run by the one and only, ME! My husband has been appointed as my consultant. We bounce ideas together, discuss streaming processes, optimizing time and so much more.
All orders are made and packed with love and care by me and I will endeavor to get all orders out in the expected processing time of 3-5 business days. I take pride in my work and I hope you love my pieces as much as I loved making them.

* Hypoallergenic earring posts
For as long as I can remember, I have had sensitive ears. My mom would buy me only sterling silver or gold earrings but was sad I couldn’t wear fashionable colorful earrings my other friends would wear. And when I would wear the store bought earrings my earlobes would be itchy, red crusty and sore!
So, when I started my jewelry business it was so important for me to only use earrings posts that are made for sensitive ears.
I did my research and found out that metal allergies are so common! Most jewelry allergies are caused by nickel. Nickel is a natural white metal that is usually mixed with other metals to create an alloy. In jewelry, nickel can be found in earring posts, body jewelry, eyeglass frames, watchbands, buttons, zippers, and costume jewelry.
Common signs of jewelry allergies include: rash on the neck, Itchy earlobes, red marks where the jewelry touches, swelling and blisters.
I source my earrings post from reliable vendors. I only use nickel free hypoallergenic stainless steel posts to avoid as much jewelry allergies as possible. Some of our gold earring posts are gold plated.
