Stavo facendo shopping con mia cognata quando ho trovato questo negozio per caso che aveva in vetrina un bellissimo ornamento natalizio in vetro colorato. Ovviamente dovevo averlo! Ho pensato che sarebbe stato perfetto nella camera di mia madre a Natale, quando saremmo andate ad addobbarla per lei. Tornata a casa, ho iniziato a pensare a quanto mi mancasse creare cose con le mie mani e a quanto fosse bello quell'ornamento illuminato. Mi sono iscritta a un corso in un negozio di vetreria locale, ma mancavano sei settimane e non volevo aspettare così tanto. Così sono andata da Hobby Lobby, ho comprato un kit e il resto è storia! Ho imparato da sola con l'aiuto di siti web, video e un sacco di tentativi ed errori. Sto ancora imparando! Mio figlio mi ha insegnato a saldare e mi ha suggerito alcune idee che ho sviluppato in questa nuova strada creativa che sto esplorando! Sembra che ogni volta che creo i miei carillon solari per qualcuno, mi venga in mente una nuova idea che voglio approfondire. La mia passione rimane comunque quella di creare carillon solari personalizzati! Adoro scoprire quali colori preferiscono, se desiderano un tema o semplicemente piccoli dettagli su di loro, per poi creare qualcosa di completamente fatto a mano e unico!
Sono orgoglioso di ciò che ho creato e di ciò che continuo a imparare a creare. Mi riempie di gioia quando porto a termine un'opera e voglio condividerla con tutti!
I was shopping with my sister in law and found this random store that had a lovely Christmas ornament in the window made of stained glass. Of course I had to have it! I thought it would be perfect in my mom's room at Christmas time when we went to decorate it for her. I got home and just started thinking about how much I miss creating things with my hands, and how pretty the ornament was in the light. I signed up for a class at a local glass store, but that was 6 weeks away and I just didn't want to wait that long. So I headed to Hobby Lobby, bought a kit and the rest is history! I taught myself with the help of websites, videos, and a lot of trial and error. I am still learning! My son taught me how to solder and suggested a few ideas I have run with as well in this new creative avenue I am exploring! It seems like every time I make my sun chimes for someone I come up with a new idea I want to explore. My favorite is still creating Sun Chimes for someone! I love finding out what colors they like, if they want a theme, or just little things about them and then creating something completely handmade and unique!
I am proud of what I've made and what I'm continuing to learn to make. It makes me smile when I've completed something and I want to share it with everyone!
