Ceramic Sculptures by Kathleen McGiveron

Mission, British Columbia

Announcement    I am an artist who creates creepy but cute sculptures. My art is lowbrow and is often influenced by kitsch, ceramic figurines. I am inspired by nature and often my work either has a connection to myself, Science Fiction or popular culture. I like to play with juxtapositions, embellishment, sentimentality, and humor which can range from cheerful to sarcastic. Each series I do is different from the previous and includes figurines which are rebellious, bizarre, and explore topics which are influenced by my passions or movements in contemporary culture which I feel I need to reflect.
