Wonderful craftsmanship. The holders were drilled out to 7/8ths and now fit tapered candles snugly. The felt at the bottom is thin and durable. The only difficulty is I've had a bit of trouble trying to get candle wax out of them but if it gets that bad I'm sure I can carefully chip it out. Jake is lovely to work with and I'm very pleased with my purchase. These hefty, quirky holders are just the thing for my beeswax candles.

I needed a special birthday present for a dear friend. I was very happy to find these candle holders. Received great customer service and the items shipped quickly, with a birthday card as requested. The seller even sent me a photo of the wrapping and card before shipment. My friend loves her gift. I could not be happier.
Koolman Forge - Contemporary designs realized by traditional techniques.
Koolman Forge is based on southern Vancouver Island and opened for business in early 2016.
We produce forged metal work, both for our expanding range of products as well as unique custom designed projects. Working primarily in mild steel, we also use copper, bronze, brass, and aluminum. In addition we produce tools in high carbon and alloy steels.
The founder of Koolman Forge, Jake Koolman is an artist blacksmith who trained in the UK. He has returned home to start his own business after working abroad.
Smithing or forging is the process of heating metal, often steel and forming it to the desired shape. Our products are mostly worked with hand hammers and tools over the anvil. Some of our larger pieces are forged using pneumatic or hydraulic versions of the hand tools, but there is no automation in our workshop. Our making relies on the skills of the smith, their training, knowledge and concentration.
Traditional techniques and time honored knowledge form the foundation of our process, which we then apply to contemporary designs. This, coupled with some of the most hard wearing and versatile materials available, allow us to create beautiful and long lasting pieces for you to enjoy.
