Me retiré de la academia hace unos años (justo antes de que llegara COVID) y descubrí que tenía tiempo para disfrutar de cosas que alimentan mi alma. Con el confinamiento, redescubrí mi amor por la pintura. Me convertí en miembro de la Alcohol Ink Society y comencé a tomar clases a través del sitio de Facebook de la Sociedad. Antes de mi carrera académica, había tomado clases particulares de acuarela. Estaba interesado en intentar usarlo de nuevo. De alguna manera me topé con Brusho, una forma cristalizada de acuarela que permite colores vivos muy brillantes y crea patrones únicos. Así, me embarqué en aprender y practicar la pintura con tintas alcohólicas y Brusho.

I retired from academia a few years ago (right before COVID hit) and found that I had time to enjoy things that feed my soul. With the lockdown, I rediscovered my love of painting. I became a member of the Alcohol Ink Society and started taking classes through the Society's Facebook site. Previous to my academic career, I had taken private lessons in watercolor. I was interested in attempting to use it again. Somehow I stumbled upon Brusho, a crystalized form of watercolor that allows very bright vivid colors and creates unique patterns. Thus, I embarked on learning and practicing painting with alcohol inks and Brusho.
While employed fulltime, I had been creating jewelry pieces. Recently, I have begun making hand designed earrings in addition to painting.
