I didnt realize from the pictures that there was a slight brownish color in it. Other than that I loved this skein! Super fast shipping!

About

Humane and Conscientious Luxury

Hi! I'm Becky and my goal is to provide fiber artists with spectacular yarns and fiber. I set about this goal in three important ways:

1. My yarns and fibers come from humanely treated animals. I've dedicated my life not only to art, but also to animal welfare. I have a BS in Wildlife Biology and spent more than a decade rescuing and protecting animals, and teaching the public how to be better stewards of both wild and domestic life. And now it is of utmost importance to me that the wool I offer is from sheep that are treated humanely. So I seek out yarns and fibers that are certified organic or NewMerino (a certification system used in Australia based on animal welfare and ecological sustainability), or, better yet, are from farms that are local to me. When I support small, local farms I have the wonderful opportunity to get to know the shepherds and the sheep, and judge for myself how well the animals are cared for.

2. My yarns and fibers are the highest quality available. I carefully select bases that are fabulously millspun, or expertly handspun on my beautiful hand-crafted spinning wheel. I dye with fiber-reactive Sabraset dyes, which are exceptionally light- and wash-fast. My dyes are non-toxic and I set them with citric acid. While some variations are an inherent aspect of hand dyed yarns, I make sure to apply the dye the same way for every skein in a dyelot, so you can count on consistency in your skeins. As far as the artistic application of color is concerned, it's my hope that the beauty of my yarn and fibers can speak for itself :)

3. Serving you is my ultimate goal. Aside from working every day to create the most amazing products I can, I also spend a lot of time dreaming up new ways to serve you better. I want to hear your questions, concerns, opinions, and feedback. If you have an idea for a custom order of any kind, let me know! I'm open to new ideas and honest about my limitations. I also try my best to create photos that are accurate representations of my yarn and fibers, but since monitors vary, I always include a written description of the colors I've used. If you're unhappy with your order in any way, send me a message and we can work together to resolve the issue. I respond quickly, yet thoughtfully, to my messages, and take my responsibilities as a small business owner very seriously.

Thanks for taking the time to read all this, and I hope I've given you some idea of who I am and how I operate my yarn and fiber business. I'd love to know more about you, too! So, if you'd like to drop me a line, check out my blog, or join me in my group on Ravelry or on Facebook, we can share and enjoy all the fun and beauty of the world of fiber art together.

Warmly,
Becky

Shipping
Your items will be shipped within 1-3 days of ordering for ready-to-ship items (all items are ready-to-ship unless they are titled with "Dyed to Order"). Dyed to Order items ship in 1-2 weeks. IMPORTANT NOTE - if your order contains ready-to-ship and Dyed to Order yarns, I'll ship them all together when the Dyed to Order yarns are ready. If you'd prefer to have the ready-to-ship yarns shipped in the usual 1-3 days, you should place Dyed to Order and ready-to-ship orders separately. Please send me a message if this is confusing, and I'll try and explain it better :)

INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS PLEASE NOTE: my shipping cost does not include any duties, taxes, customs charges, etc,... you may incur from your own country upon delivery.
Additional policies and FAQs
We use very high-quality, non-toxic, washfast, colorfast, professional dyes on our yarns. We rinse very thoroughly after dyeing, but there still may be some loss of color in your rinse water, especially with the darker shades. This will not effect the color of your yarn.
