About

My Story

I have always been drawn to art, but my family believed that artist is not a proper profession and I didn’t even dream of becoming one. I took a path that promised me a steady income – public relations. After attaining my degree, I worked in the field quite successfully, but my creative side was calling and constantly reminding me who I really was. I tried drawing, bead weaving, knitting. Finally in 2006 I mastered up some courage and singed up for an adult oil painting class. This changed my life. Within a few weeks I realized the meaning of words “calling” and “to be passionate about what you do”. Since then I have never stopped painting.

I was painting on my own, taking all available to me courses, reading all the books that I could find. My opportunities to learn expanded considerably once I moved from to Toronto in 2009. Here I continued making art while of settling down in a new country. I keep learning to this day and I’m pretty confident I will never get tired of it. Among my teachers and programs I took in Toronto – Academy of Art Canada and Art Program in Central Technical school. Currently I study a lot online and experiment in my Toronto based studio.

In October 2014 I started teaching painting workshops for adults, which continue to this day. Now I teach, paint, get involved in community engaged projects such as “Art in the park” (2015, in collaboration with RBC) and “Art of healing” (2015, 2016 in collaboration with Ronald McDonald House Charities).

I’ve had three solo shows since 2015 and numerous group shows around the city of Toronto. My works are in many private collections around the globe, including Canada, United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Cyprus and Russia.

Frequently asked questions
Custom and personalised orders

If you want to write something short on the front or back of the painting, just send me a message! It will result in a 1-2 days extra for processing because it will need to dry. And because it is now a personalized item, I will not be able to accept returns and exchanges.

Care instructions

Oil paintings are the most durable ones!! Just wipe the dust off every once in a while and you are good. All my paintings are coated with varnish to protect from dust entering inside the painting and UV light changing colors.

If somehow it becomes dirty (once a child drew on my painting) you can clean it with soap and water and let it dry. Will be good as new.

Framing

Most of my paintings are ready to hang as is or can be framed if you want them framed. Framing can be as simple or as fancy as you want it to be - completely up to you!
I use very common sizes so you can purchase a ready made frame from an art store, order it online or even buy it from IKEA. That said, custom framing is always a great option too.

Painting arrived damaged

Oh no! Don't worry, I got it!

Please take pictures (preferably before you even open it). Take pictures of the packaging and of the painting. Send them to me nadia-to@hotmail.com Please keep the packaging, delivery company may need to access it to make their decision.
I insure all my works and I will deal with the delivery company.

I will either refund your money or replace your painting provided the damage was not your fault.
