Announcement    With Christmas just around the corner crafters of all types are getting busy. To help with some of the pre-market stress, I have designed a printables package for anyone getting ready for the holiday markets. I know it's something that I'm excited about using, as I always seem to forget something. Having a checklist (included in my Craft Market Package) will be ideal to help me take everything I need.

All of my printables are designed to be used any time of year, unless otherwise specified.

Printables are an economical way to build your brand, and I have designed some to help you grow your own business. They are simple to use, and once downloaded on your computer you will have access to them whenever you wish. Some are designed to be printed on card stock, while others may be printed on regular printer paper (white or coloured). Each printable is downloadable as soon as payment has been verified (usually within just minutes). The Baker's Dozen for crochet artisans is a great way to build your brand.

The patterns are also available immediately after purchase, as they are digital downloads. One of my more popular patterns has been the Lingerie Bag. It’s a quick project and works perfectly for lingerie or doll clothes (for those of you who have children or grandchildren who love their dolls).

(For anyone who has purchased from me in the past, please note your coupon codes apply to digital products as well. I encourage you to take advantage of them.)

If you have purchased an item from my shop, or have used one of my patterns, please tag me @notjustalpaca, or use the hashtag notjustalpaca. I would love to see your colour choices, as well as my products in use.

Thanks for visiting my shop!

Diane

Note: If you have made a purchase in my shop, I would love to have you post a review. Thank you so much!

About NotJustAlpaca

On Etsy since 2014

Combining my love of fiber and writing to create wonderful, practical things.

I have dabbled in crafts ever since I can remember. My maternal grandmother taught me the basics of knitting, crocheting, sewing and needlepoint. I have added more skills to my craft knowledge over the years to include embroidery, plastic canvas, felting, spinning and more. She instilled an appreciation of handmade in me, and to this day I would rather receive a handmade gift than store-bought.

When I was in my early twenties (before babies) I used to crochet and make a variety of items from plastic canvas, then rent a table at Farmer's Markets and Craft Sales. As the years went on I eventually opened up my own quilt shop in a small town. The demand for that type of service wasn't there, so I went back to selling my creations at markets. I didn't get serious about it until just over four years ago when I opened my Etsy Shop.

Although I have tried a variety of crafts, I always go back to crochet. It is the one constant, and is so versatile. From dishcloths to sweaters, and there is so much I haven’t done. I enjoy designing patterns, and selling them in my shop. I use basic crochet stitches in my patterns, which makes them ideal for the beginner and experienced crochet artist. Something you’ll notice too, is I prefer practical items. I admire the doily makers, but I would rather make something that can be used to stay warm, stay clean or protect something. I have made some doilies, and I am well aware of how much time goes into them.

Living in a cold climate has given me an appreciation for warm hats, mittens and scarves. Oh, and the socks, blankets and sweaters can’t be forgotten either. Slippers and wool rugs will keep feet warm, while the ear warmers and toques will keep heads warm. My selection of yarn consists of acrylic, wool and alpaca. I must say, alpaca is my favourite to wear and work with. The majority of alpaca yarn I use has been processed by yours truly.

No matter what I do, crochet is always going to be one of my favourite things. It’s hard to get bored when the options are so extensive. I will continue to create, both patterns and finished products.

I have also added a Printables Collection to my Shop, which I have created to help other crochet artisans with their own crochet businesses. I wish to see others succeed, so am creating printables to help others with branding, inventory control and the basics of business.

Thank you for visiting my shop. I appreciate the support, which comes from not only sales, but sharing on social media and word of mouth.

I have been a craftsperson for as long as I can remember. My maternal grandmother was my mentor, and she showed me that homemade gifts were special. I have taken it one step further and am earning a part-time income from my creations.
