PICA Things We Love

We want to share our passion for Japanese things-we-love and add a little fun to your everyday. We leave no wall behind with our original pixel-perfect illustrations.

Driven by bright colours of the pop art movement and simplified design, we draw our inspiration from modern Japanese art, graphic design and culture.

We are Alyona Polianskaia and Robby Oentoro, an awesome designer duo and co-creators of PICA studio. Our love affair with everything Japanese began during our two-year living in Tokyo suburbs adventure. Upon our return to our hometown Toronto, Canada, our experience in Japan and its unique culture has inspired us to leave a creative mark of our own.
UPDATE: In the end of 2016 we made a grand decision to return and settle in Yokohama, Japan. With inspiration now literally at our doorstep, the creative future for PICA is boundless!

Hey, why PICA?
We call ourselves PICA [pee-ka] because it’s short and simple, because we like the sound of it, and because it also happens to be our favourite typographic unit of measure.
