Queenspring, un collettivo artistico in rapida crescita con sede a Worcester, offre una piattaforma agli artisti per esplorare ed esprimere la totalità di se stessi attraverso il loro lavoro. Crediamo nel potere di abbracciare sia gli aspetti luminosi che quelli oscuri dell'esperienza umana. I nostri artisti si addentrano in temi di eredità culturale, sessualità, ispirazione creativa e salute mentale, uniti dal concetto di "saudade", una parola portoghese per l'ineffabile stato malinconico di desiderio per qualcosa, o qualcuno, che una volta era.
In un'epoca in cui la maggior parte delle cose è esternalizzata, gli artisti del Queenspring Collective guardano dentro di sé per creare opere d'arte fatte a mano che ti ancorano saldamente al presente. Utilizziamo un mix di collage, disegni lineari e figurativi, acquerelli, linoleografie e digitalizzazione per dare vita a pezzi unici che, in un modo o nell'altro, commentano temi attuali in politica, cultura pop e cambiamento sociale.
Inevitabilmente, gli argomenti che il Collective commenta e i temi che il Collective esplora possono essere tutt'altro che gustosi. Usiamo il nostro senso dell'umorismo leggermente squilibrato e irriverente per rendere questi problemi più accettabili, senza offuscare o distrarre dal grande messaggio: libertà e uguaglianza per tutte le persone, indipendentemente da genere, orientamento sessuale, razza, fede o paese.

Queenspring, a burgeoning Worcester-based art collective, provides a platform for artists to explore and express the totality of themselves through their work. We believe in the power of embracing both light and dark aspects of the human experience. Our artists delve into themes of cultural heritage, sexuality, creative inspiration, and mental health, united by the concept of "saudade" – a Portuguese word for the ineffable melancholic state of longing for something, or someone, that once was.
In an age when most things are outsourced, Queenspring Collective’s artists look within to create hand-made pieces of art that anchor you firmly in the present. We use a mix of collage, line and figure drawings, watercolors, linocuts, and digitization to bring to life one-of-a-kind pieces that, in one way or another, comment on current themes in politics, pop-culture, and social change.
Necessarily, topics the Collective comments on, and the themes the Collective explores, can be less than savory. We use our slightly unhinged and irreverent sense of humor to make these issues more palatable, without obfuscating or distracting from the big take away: freedom and equality for all people regardless of gender, sexual orientation, race, faith, or country.
