Art its what we do! And we love rust too!
Meu nome é Erik e criei a Rust Up Buttercup como uma forma de exibir minha arte online através do meu canal no YouTube e, claro, do Etsy. Meu foco principal e minha paixão é a arte em metal. Adoro moldar e soldar metal. É incrível como você pode soldar duas peças de metal e, em questão de minutos, ter algo tão forte e sólido que aguenta quase tudo. Também é incrível que, quando você começa a enferrujar a peça de metal, a ferrugem ganha sua própria forma, e você nunca consegue duplicá-la, não importa o quanto tente. É como se a arte ganhasse sua própria impressão digital.
Nem sempre trabalhei com metal; também adoro pintar. Minha técnica principal é acrílico sobre tela, com um toque de aerografia. Sempre amei pintura e arte, e depois de me formar no ensino médio, decidi frequentar o Instituto de Arte de Washington, em Seattle, onde me formei em Design Industrial. Agora, crio arte através do metal e ainda incluo a pintura em minhas criações sempre que possível.
My name is Erik and I started Rust Up Buttercup as a way to showcase my art online through my YouTube channel and of coarse Etsy. My main focus and my passion is my metal art. I love forming metal and I love welding. Its amazing how you can weld two pieces of metal, and in a mater of minutes you have something so strong and solid that will hold up to almost anything. Its also amazing that when you start to rust the piece of metal the rust takes its own form, and you can never duplicate it no mater how hard you try. Its like the art takes on it's own fingerprint.
I have not always done metal, I love to paint as well. My median is acrylic on canvas with a side of airbrushing. I loved painting and art and after graduating high school I decided to attend the Art Institute of Washington Seattle where I earned a degree in Industrial Design. Now I create art through my metal art and still throw some painting it the mix when I can.
