Announcement    EARTH DAY GRATITUDE SALE for SaamiCraft
FREE SHIPPING TO CANADA AND UNITED STATES
"SaamiCraft" showcases handcrafted Saami and Celtic inspired jewelry. I come from a diverse background of Celtic, Swedish, and Sami ancestry. Most of my bracelets are made with reindeer leather that is imported from the Saami tribes in Northern Sweden where reindeer husbandry is still an important part of the Saami culture. I also occasionally use buckskin deer and elk leather from British Columbia and Scottish deer leather that has been tanned in the old traditional ways. Kangaroo lace from Australia, horse hair, and Salmon Leather is also incorporated into some of my bracelets.
The hand-twinned nickel-free pewter with 10% sterling silver is imported from Sweden. Each bracelet and necklace has been braided with the silver pewter and meticulously hand sewn with invisible thread. I put a lot of thought and attention to detail in all my creations as I am truly passionate about this art form.
Tenntrådsbroderi, or embroidering with pewter or tin thread is almost a lost art. The Saami used tin thread since the 1600’s to decorate their clothing. The tin was obtained by melting down old pewter plates and dishes and was spun into thread. The use of pewter thread has recently become fashionable in pewter braided reindeer leather bracelets.
All of my bracelets can be made in a variety of colors and sizes, and custom orders are always welcome!
Each purchase comes in its own special gift box with a write-up about the bracelet, as well as a beautiful handmade gift card.
It is my hope that my Saami and Celtic inspired creations will serve to remind the wearer to be mindful and present in their own lives and Spiritual journey. We are all connected.

Handcrafted on the West Coast of British Columbia, Canada.
Custom orders are always welcome, and most designs shown are available in any size or leather color preference, however, custom orders will not qualify for any sales or coupons that are currently offered.

Sincerely,
Alexandra Lanzarotta ~ SaamiCraft

Custom and personalised orders

You can custom order your bracelet or necklace in most colors of leather as well as in any size that you would need. You can also request an antler button, industrial snaps, or pewter or vintage buttons.

Sizing details

To choose the best bracelet size for a comfortable fit, with a flexible measuring tape measure around the wrist where you would like your bracelet to sit, and add 1 cm or 3/8 inch to your wrist size. The soft leather will stretch a little over time.
For wider cuff designs, or if you prefer a looser fit for bracelets, add 1.5 cm or 1/2 inch to your wrist measurement.

Care instructions

When you first try on your new bracelet, the loop may be snug at first. After some wear your bracelet will form to your wrist and become easier to close.
Since it is made out of leather, please take your bracelet off when in contact with water or when swimming. If you do occassionally get your bracelet wet it should be fine.
The pewter will get a lovely shine or patina as it ages, and it will get more and more beautiful over time.
