I have spent all of my life on the ocean. My four children were raised here and remain as surfers, sailors, and sea nymphs (and perhaps the odd pirate). It was from them that the studio name is derived. By times I am their "Prima Madre" but now and then, and with affection, I am their "Salty Hag".

The sound of the sea in my ears, the feeling of floating in calm waters, riding on surf, of lazing on the harbor in my son's sailboat. Heaven on earth. I love simplicity, life in the salt air and nature around me.

I have been an artist in various media my entire life. Form and color come naturally to me, but had never heard of wool felting. In retrospect I had seen felted products in local crafter’s markets but never gave thought to the manner of their creation. One of my sons gifted me with a beginners needle felting kit with raw wool, two very sharp felting needles, and a sponge to use to protect myself from inevitable stabbings. When I took time to familiarize myself my imagination exploded with the endless possibilities.

The sky is the limit, nature is my inspiration, and I love every minute spent in the creative process.
