Hi there, I'm Ken, and I'm glad to meet you.
I'm from Calgary, Canada - a city nestled in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. I love 'out west' and I've always been inspired by the mountains just outside my front door. You'll see a lot of that in my work. I'm originally from the east coast of Canada though, and spend a good deal of time on Prince Edward Island, a jewel of an island most people know for its rolling green hills and red dirt roads. And for good measure, I spend some time in Florida, so the hints of warmth and fun colours in my paintings will show up there too. That's where my art studio name originated - my inspirations come from the water, the air, and the beauty of the land around me and I hope you'll find that resonates with you too.
I first picked up a paintbrush ten years ago, and it's by far the best hobby I've had. I was inspired by my Mother, who was so passionate and committed to her work that I guess some of it rubbed off on me, although we have completely different styles. A lot of people are surprised that the scenery they see on my canvases, while it looks so familiar and comforting - is not a replica of any particular mountain range, sea, or lake. I don't work from pictures, whatever you see on my canvases comes from somewhere that's a mystery to me, and it's a complete surprise what the end product will be until the painting is finished.
I paint for fun and relaxation, but mostly, I love it when my art brings others joy. So if you've found my work and like what you see, then my day is complete!
Thanks for stopping by,
Ken
