Origins of my shop name:
My shop is named after the Seed of Life, a powerful symbol and pattern that has been significant among many cultures for thousands of years. The symbol is made up of 7 overlapping circles, with one of the circles in the centre of the form. This first circle is often considered a representation of the beginning of life. The number of circles within the Seed of Life parallel many significant examples of the number 7 in life and culture. For example, the 7 chakras, 7 days of creation, 7 musical scales and 7 major colours. The Seed of Life is considered an example of sacred geometry because not only are many geometric forms found within it (such as hexagons, triangles and platonic solids) but it is also found occurring throughout nature. When the Seed of Life is multiplied, it then becomes the ‘Flower of Life’.
It is a form full of mystery and meaning, a mathematical blueprint of the starting point of life and its unfolding.
On a personal level, I have always been drawn to this mysterious and beautiful shape. I have worn it, drawn it, and worked with it in my life for many years now, because I find myself constantly drawn to it and resonating with its power. This business itself is a seed from my imagination, and so it only feels fitting to name my shop ‘Seed of Life’ – a starting point for something beautiful to grow and bloom from!
