On Etsy since 2017

Welcome to the Sparkle-Palace (Etsy Outpost Edition)

I started doing burlesque in 2016, and I fell in love with it! So much sparkle, so much glamour! I soon fell down the rabbit-hole of costume embellishing, and I haven't looked back. I love using my art and design background to enhance costumes to the next level!

I love helping people achieve the costumes of their dreams; let me know what your vision is and we can create something wonderful together! You can hire me to do the embellishing for you, or you can just buy the rhinestones and experience the zen of rhinestoning for yourself!

My rhinestones? They are awesome, and the price is right for stocking up! They are the same stones I use in my pasties, and they are a great alternative to the big brands. (Less sparkly than Swarovski or Preciosa, more sparkly than DMC. All my rhinestones are glass/crystal.)

I typically stock SS10 and SS16 in all colours, with some in SS20 and SS30.

I'm listing my premade pasties and unique costume pieces here, and custom work will be managed through my website.

But of course if you have any questions, feel free to reach out!

Frequently asked questions
Custom and personalised orders

Any item I make can be completely personalized; size, shape, colour, quality of rhinestones, design, tassels... The options are endless.

If you have a performance deadline, or need an item for a specific date, please advise, and I will be happy to discuss timelines.

What pastie size should I choose? (Part 1)

Ideally, pasties should cover your areolas, but as Jo "Boobs" Weldon says, when it comes to burlesque "do whatever the F you want".

If you want to wear a a larger smaller pastie, go for it! If you do use body concealer, apply it after your pasties are on; oil and pasties don't mix!

If you already have pasties that fit, measure the diameter across the back (straight line across the widest point).

On my blog (at www.showgirlsparkle.com) I have a template for finding your pastie size, or you can use round household objects to guesstimate; candles, jar lids, maybe if you have a set of measuring cups (and/or spoons). Hold them up in front of a mirror and see if they conceal enough, and if so, measure. If you get stuck, let me know!

Pasties - Care and Feeding

My pasties are all made from a double-layer of medium-weight buckram, and will last for years of use with a bit of care.

Moisture is a pastie’s arch-enemy, so try to keep them dry. They can withstand a performance sweat, but not a pool party. If you have a water-act or need them for a pool party, let me know in advance and I can make them on a 3D printed polymer base.

However you choose to adhere your pasties, make sure you prep the surface of your skin first. Don’t use any creams or moisturizers on the nipple or areoles beforehand. Give the area a wipe with rubbing alcohol if available, or diluted vodka in a pinch.

Pasties - Sticking them on! Part 1 (for fun and games)

If you’re wearing the pasties for sexy fun times, double-sided lingerie tape or garment tape, available at most drug stores, should work just fine. You don’t want them *too* stuck on because you may want to remove them quickly

Pasties - Sticking them on! Part 2 (for stage and performance, for Dry or Normal Skin)

If you are wearing them for performing, those babies need to stay on!

If your skin is dry or normal, it’s possible that a simple line of eyelash glue or spirit gum around the outside edge of the pastie will work. Apply it to the pastie, avoiding the actual nipple area, let it dry for a couple of minutes and then apply them. Hold them on for 30 seconds or so, and you should be good to go! After you remove them, wipe the area with coconut oil or makeup remover to get rid of the sticky residue or your boobs will pick up lint, which is not very glam. (If you have a latex allergy, make sure to find the non-latex glue!)

Pasties - Sticking them on! Part 3 (for stage and performance, for Oily or Glowing Skin)

If your skin is oily or if you are working up a healthy glow onstage, eyelash glue or garment tape may not be enough. You might need double-sided carpet tape from the hardware store. It is fiddly/annoying to work with, especially if you have nails, but it is effective. There are different brands and stickinesses available, start with the lightest and work your way up to heavy-duty if you need more stick; be as gentle on your skin as you can.

Find a pair of scissors that you don’t mind gunking up and tuck them into your burly-bag with the tape. Backstage you can cut small pieces of the tape and stick it to the back of the outside edge of the pastie, and then to your skin. Dot get the tape onto your nipple; it hurts coming off!
