SoCal Design Company is in 2005 opgericht door kunstenares Claudia Hapeman. Claudia werd geboren als kunstenares. Als kind was Claudia niet geïnteresseerd in het gebruikelijke speelgoed, maar gaf ze de voorkeur aan 'rommel' in huis om 'spullen' van te maken. Claudia's creatieve kracht bleef groeien tijdens haar middelbare schooljaren, gedurende welke tijd ze vele prijzen ontving van verschillende kunstafdelingen binnen de school en een acceptatie voor het Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City.

Na haar studie volgde Claudia een atletiekcarrière door paarden te trainen en competitief te rijden op de grote showcircuits in de springdivisies. Tijdens het nemen van de middag vrij van het rijden in de zomer van 2004 om te genieten van de stranden van de westkust, gebeurde er een ongelukkig ongeluk waardoor Claudia met een zwaar gebroken been achterbleef. Niet in staat om haar gebruikelijke paardensportactiviteiten te hervatten en beperkt tot bedrust, werd SoCal Design Company eindelijk geboren. Tot die dag was het starten van een eigen online bedrijf slechts een droom!

Sinds claudia de eerste online winkel heeft geopend, heeft ze duizenden particuliere klanten verworven in de Verenigde Staten, Canada, Europa, Australië en Azië. Claudia's werken zijn ook te zien in muziekvideo's, zoals Sean Paul en Pretty Ricky's "Push It Baby" en televisie zoals the Gene Simmon's Family Jewels show getiteld "Sophie's Sweet 16" waarin Claudia werd uitgenodigd door A & E TV voor een gastoptreden. Claudia's maskers zijn ook te zien geweest in Dos Equis-commercials, Masters Of Illusion en in de populaire televisieshow Pretty Little Liars. Andere beroemde klanten van Claudia's zijn onder andere; Radical Media, Hazmat Films, Inland Pacific Ballet, Master's Of Illusion, Gilt Groupe, Desperate House Wives, The Young and the Restless, Walt Disney, Jillian Claire (Days of Our Lives ster), Siegfried & Roy, Orlando Style, Gothic Beauty, The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, Fox 5 News, Jim Steinman, Zoe Hennessey en Prestige Magazine.

SoCal Design Company was started in 2005 by artist, Claudia Hapeman. Claudia was born an artist. As a child, Claudia wasn't interested in the usual toys but preferred house hold 'junk' to make 'stuff' out of. Claudia's creative strength continued to grow through her high school years during which time she received many awards from various art departments within the school and an acceptance to the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City.

After college, Claudia pursued an athletic career training horses and riding competitively on the major show circuits in the jumper divisions. While taking the afternoon off from riding during the summer of 2004 to enjoy the west coast beaches, an unfortunate accident occurred leaving Claudia with a badly broken leg. Unable to resume her usual equestrian activities and restricted to bed rest, SoCal Design Company was finally born. Until that day, starting her own online business had been only a dream!

Since having opened the first online store, Claudia has acquired thousands of private clients in The United States, Canada, Europe, Australia and Asia. Claudia’s works may also be seen in music videos, such as Sean Paul and Pretty Ricky's "Push It Baby" and television such as The Gene Simmon's Family Jewels show titled "Sophie's Sweet 16" in which Claudia was invited by A&E TV for a guest appearance. Claudia's masks have also been featured in Dos Equis commercials, Masters Of Illusion and on the hit television show, Pretty Little Liars.
