In 2015, THMiniatures saw its first funded Kickstarter and it was the beginning of an amazing adventure that's still going on today.
Everything started in the summer of 2014, as there was a downturn at work. The original idea was to make a number of decorative pieces to display my painted miniatures. So, for my personal pleasure I started sketching scenery elements, then, as the project grew, moved from drawings to physical creations.
I'll be honest and say that there were a number of attempts and technical research to get to make the pieces as I wanted them to be.
After many attempts, my first models were ready to hold my miniatures and were proudly sitting in my living room display. I was happy with the result and naturally, the question came to me... "Could I sell these to play with?"
Without pondering the question for too long, I started to do some research, and Kickstarter seemed to be quite an interesting path: social financing that helps small businesses put out projects that they care about.
From then on I invested time and money in learning, modifying the first models to make them "castable", purchasing materiel, setting up impressions, and all that's needed to start doing this in "production" mode.
It took me many months to set up the first campaign, design a business plan, erect a commercial framework, write texts, find an artistic direction for THM, etc....
And it's at the cost of all this effort that on February 25th 2015 the first ever campaign was launched and it quickly caught the eye of players and collectors. Support kept on being pledged, and on March 28th I was astonished at the eagerness of backers who believed as much as I did in this project. By investing the money raised this way in material and supplies, I was able to set up, in the largest room of my apartment, all I needed to produce the 2444 Ruins and Fortifications scenery pieces.
This was thus the official start of THMiniatures, scenery division. Since then, over 23000 pieces have been sold, the production space has increased by triple, over 140 references created, and still the same passion for designing and producing models to embellish our game tables. Since the early days, THM has unceasingly sought to perfect its production methods, always with the same purpose: To offer you varied products of the best quality.
