Mental health advocacy & awareness is what drives me every. damn. day.
Hi, I'm Annalise- the owner and creator here at The Bipolar Creative! Mental illness has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. In the beginning, what I was feeling didn't have a name and I was simply labeled as "moody, dramatic, or full of teenage angst." That all changed during my first year of college when I was diagnosed with bipolar II disorder... a discovery that would turn my entire life upside down.
For nearly 8 years, I kept my diagnosis a secret from my family, friends, and the world until one day, I was tired of living a lie and started blogging about my experience as a woman with bipolar disorder. That blog eventually led to a career as a mental health speaker for high school and college students. I have had the honor of sharing my story with thousands of students across the country.
And then everything changed when the COVID-19 pandemic hit. Instead of traveling to campuses around the US, I was stuck at home for a year. In that time, I turned to my other passion: creating. Thus, The Bipolar Creative on Etsy was born. Graphic design, embroidery, cross-stitch, painting, etc. have always helped support my mental health and I am so excited to share that love with you. Thank you for your support.
I am a 3rd generation maker! Check out my dad's handmade wooden toys and decor at Grampy's Goods on Etsy. I help manage his shop and would love your support.
