Este lema nació de los recuerdos de mi infancia, cuando veía a las palomas anidar en los pinos junto al porche y a los petirrojos anunciar la primavera. Me trae a la memoria los días en el jardín cuidando las rosas recién plantadas y cortando las dalias y las bocas de dragón para mi madre. Me transporta al patio trasero de mis abuelos, con plantas tan altas que me impedían ver por encima, pero con una fragancia tan dulce que aún puedo olerla. Espero que sus recuerdos se aviven al hojear mis juegos de tarjetas y las pinturas originales de las que se inspiran. Nuestros recuerdos nos sostienen en los buenos y en los malos momentos, y creo que la acuarela hace lo mismo. Combinar estas escenas e imágenes familiares con una técnica suave como la acuarela es muy reconfortante. Un consuelo, ya sea en una tarjeta de felicitación o en una pintura para enmarcar, ese es el objetivo de mi arte. Gracias por visitar hoy el estudio El Camino del Petirrojo. This tagline was born in the memories I have as a child growing up watching the doves nesting in the pines next to the screen porch and the robins that heralded spring. It recalls the days in the garden coaxing the newly planted tea roses and cutting the dahlias and snapdragons for mother. It takes me back to grandma and grandpa's backyard with plants too tall for me to see over, but fragrance so sweet I can still smell it today. I hope your memories are jogged as you flip through my card sets and original paintings from which they are drawn. Our memories sustain us in the good times and the challenging, and I think watercolor art does the same. Combining these familiar scenes and images with a soft medium like watercolor is so soothing.
