There's Only Three is inspired by my life experiences.
I created There’s Only Three as an extension of my life, art, music, humor, and experiences.
I’m a professional artist, photographer, and designer inspired by retro culture, cannabis culture, fashion, architecture, music, movement, and self-expression. My work blends boho, mod, vintage, festival, and artistic influences into pieces that reflect many sides of who I am creatively.
I’m a Black woman who was adopted into a large Caucasian hippie family in the 1970s. My family included three biological children, three adopted children, and over 37 foster kids from different backgrounds and cultures. Growing up in that environment exposed me to many different ways of seeing the world through art, music, humor, struggle, creativity, survival, and individuality. Those experiences continue to shape both my life and my work today.
Over the years, my life moved through many creative and personal worlds including photography, dance, comedy, sports, martial arts, travel, fashion, music, storytelling, and visual storytelling. I studied photography and fine art, trained in dance, performed stand-up comedy when I was younger, played competitive sports, earned a brown belt in martial arts, and traveled independently from a young age. All of those experiences continue to shape the wide range of work you’ll find throughout my shop.
Because of that, There’s Only Three moves between different moods and styles — retro and modern, soulful and playful, bold and minimal, polished and imperfect. You may find wearable art, festival fashion, geometric designs, photography-based artwork, counterculture influences, home decor, music-inspired pieces, and other creative explorations living side by side here.
As a Gen X artist, I also understand that creativity, individuality, style, and self-expression do not disappear with age. Part of my work is inspired by creating pieces for people who still want personality, artistry, comfort, movement, and creative freedom in what they wear and surround themselves with.
The name There’s Only Three also reflects how I create. When I hand make something, I usually only make three before moving on to the next idea. I’m always creating, exploring, and evolving, and this shop reflects that creative freedom and constant movement.
There’s Only Three is my show-and-tell — my artwork, perspective, humor, history, and the many influences that shaped who I became.
