Tintina Glassworks features the warm glass work of Aimee Ellis. Raised in SW Ontario, Aimee lived in a variety of small Ontario towns and cities before falling in love with Yukon during a short work placement in the winter of 1995. It didn’t take Aimee long to find a way to return to Yukon permanently … she made Whitehorse her home in 1998, and has never looked back.

While working as a librarian in Whitehorse, Aimee first attempted creating with fused glass — taking an introductory glass fusing class in 2008. Within months she established a home studio and began experimenting with fused glass.

The development in Aimee’s work since, and her unique voice in this medium, have led to her work being featured in Galleries and Craft Fairs. Her work can be found in homes across Canada. Aimee is inspired by the Yukon’s expansive and varied landscapes and colours. Over time, her designs have become more complex as she continually develops her practice with warm kiln-formed glass. Despite this shift in her designs, Aimee’s work is recognizable thanks to her fondness for vibrant colours and clean lines.
