About

A passion for handcrafted clothes and urban living

Home sewing has been a major theme throughout my life. Growing up, I had no idea that most dresses came from a store, and weren't made by hand. My favourite dresses were all made by my mother, including my prom dresses and even my wedding gown.

Now, a mother myself, I make clothing for my own two girls. In 2009 I sewed a little dress for our older daughter, a dress which proved to be the very first Urban Sprout prototype. When friends saw the dress and encouraged me to market them, I dismissed the idea, thinking that designing and producing my own line of children's wear was out of my league. But as years passed, I continued to develop my aesthetic, sewing dresses for my own girls as well as for gifting. I became more confident in my designs and the praise and encouragement continued, so finally, four years later, I opened my Etsy shop and could not be more excited to be sharing my garments with the world online.

I believe children's clothing should be well made, well fitted and well designed with a beautiful and interesting aesthetic. Children are never boring: their clothes shouldn't be, either. I favour clean, simple silhouettes, perfect for city living and play. I also feel strongly that you should get your money's worth. That's why my garments are designed for longevity, as well as style, and will do double duty as a tunic or apron top as your child grows. My designs are made for the long haul, so you can get years of wear and enjoyment out of them.

All my garments are designed and handcrafted in our very own urban home. I think that our citified location and the presence of our family gives my designs a particular flare and set them apart from commonplace children's clothes.

Accepted payment methods

Returns and exchanges
We want you to be happy with your Urban Sprout Clothing purchase.

We offer an exchange for a different size should you discover that the size you selected is incorrect. Items for exchange must be clean, unworn and unscented and received by me within 30 days of the date it left my hands. Purchaser covers the cost of return shipping as well as shipping the replacement garment.

As many of our garments are one of a kind, an alternative size of the particular design you selected may not be available. If so, we will work with you to find a solution with which you will be satisfied. Should no garment in the correct size be satisfactory, we offer a refund of the purchase price of the garment minus a 10% restocking fee. Purchaser covers the cost of return shipping: the refund will only be made once the garment is received by Urban Sprout Clothing in new, unused condition.

SIZING:
We endeavour to make our garments "true to size", however children's clothes sizes vary greatly between brands. For that reason, please check the sizing chart below to ensure the correct selection of size.

REMINDER: Urban Sprout Clothing dresses are fit so that they will serve as a knee-length dress at the *listed* size, but will continue to fit as your child grows. A size 18mo dress will comfortably fit as a tunic on a child wearing size 2 or 3T; a size 2 dress will comfortably fit as a tunic on a child wearing size 5 clothing.

**IF THERE IS ANY CONFUSION, PLEASE FEEL FREE TO MESSAGE ME DIRECTLY**
