Usefully Strange began with a simple habit: walking through Las Vegas with a camera and paying attention to the places most people pass without a second look—underpasses, support columns, reflected color, worn surfaces, and strange pockets of light.
The photographs are real. The encounters are not. For the Alien Encounters series, Jeff Przybylski starts with one of his original location photographs, directs the creation of a fictional creature with AI-assisted tools, and then composites and edits the final scene so it belongs to the geometry, light, and atmosphere of the photograph. Each encounter is paired with a fictional field dossier that expands the story without pretending it is documentary evidence.
