Esta tienda combina mis dos grandes pasiones: el arte y el tejido. He dibujado toda mi vida y aprendí a tejer antes de aprender a leer. De niña, solo quería ser artista. Creo que para eso vine a este mundo. Mis artes favoritas son el dibujo a lápiz, la pintura al óleo o acrílica y el tejido.

Mi arte no está generado por IA. No es que haya nada malo en usar IA para crear arte, es solo que soy de la Generación X y, por lo tanto, no soy tan experto en tecnología como las generaciones posteriores. ¡Ni siquiera sabría por dónde empezar! Así que hago lo que he hecho desde que tenía edad para sostener un lápiz y hacer trazos en papel. Uso lo que nací para crear mi arte. Lo hago a la antigua usanza, supongo que se podría decir. (¿Acaso alguien dice eso todavía?)

Me inspiro en la naturaleza, en pequeñas maravillas que a menudo se pasan por alto, como las gotas de rocío, el reflejo de la luz en un ojo o los cristales de hielo que se forman en una ventana en invierno. También disfruto dibujando rostros de personas y animales. Parece que tengo un don para el retrato.

Cuando no estoy dibujando ni pintando, me encuentro tejiendo, acampando, paseando por la naturaleza, haciendo kayak, ensuciándome las manos en el jardín, comiendo pizza. No puedo vivir sin: mi marido, mi nieto, la música, la naturaleza, los lápices 2B, un cuaderno de dibujo, la lana y la pizza.

This shop combines the two great loves of my life: art and knitting. I have been drawing all my life, and I learned to knit before I learned to read. All I wanted to be when I was a kid was an artist. I believe it’s what I was put on this earth to do. My favourite art forms are pencil drawing, painting with oils or acrylic, and knitting.

My art is not in any way AI generated. Not that there’s anything wrong with using AI to create art, it’s just that I’m Gen X, and therefore, not as tech savvy as the generations that came after mine. I wouldn’t even know where to begin! So I do what I’ve done since I was old enough to hold a pencil and make marks on paper. I use what I was born with to make my art. I kick it old school, I guess you could say. (Does anyone actually say that anymore, though?)

I find inspiration in nature, in tiny wonders that are often overlooked, like drops of dew, the reflections of light in an eye, ice crystals that form on a window in the winter. I also enjoy drawing people's and animals' faces. I seem to have a knack for portraiture.

When not drawing or painting, I can be found knitting, camping, wandering in nature, kayaking, getting my hands dirty in the garden, eating pizza. Can't live without: my husband, my grandchild, music, nature, 2B pencils, a sketch book, yarn, pizza.
