Note from shop owner Hello everyone and welcome to Vintage View Atelier!

If you have been following us here at VVA for the last several months, you’ll know that my business has been on a hiatus. My partner was diagnosed with leukemia in March and, in order to be the person that he needs right now, I’ve had to take a step back from my business and focus on my day job and our life together.

Being on a hiatus doesn’t mean that VVA has gone silent. I am still working very hard behind the scenes to revamp my business and develop my skills so that when we come back, VVA is bigger and better than ever! As part of my development, I will be taking on very select commissions and projects; if you are interested in commissioning me or just finding out more about my current process, please get in touch! VVA will be back, we promise!
So stay tuned for announcements on my Facebook, Instagram and website over the next few weeks!

If you would like to get in touch with me during this time, please visit the contact me page on my website, dm me on Facebook or Instagram or email me directly at vintageviewatelier [!at] gmail.com!

Thank you for your support, patience and understanding in this time!
xoxo VVA

About VintageViewAtelier

Sales 75
On Etsy since 2018

Welcome to Vintage View Atelier. I am a graduate of Capilano University's Costuming for Stage and Screen Diploma program 2018. Designing and making clothing/costumes has always been a passionate hobby of mine as it coincided with my interest in writing, music and gaming. Before high school graduation, I realized that what I loved most was costume, especially period costume like corsets, crinolines and bustle skirts; basically anything with lace prior to the 1920's. Since then, I have tried to learn as much as I can. For the last several years, I have focused on period and period inspired costume from the Victorian and Edwardian periods. Additionally, I found great enjoyment in making alternative clothing and lingerie. I really love working on commissions with clients to create something that is truly unique to them and makes them feel confident and fabulous.

Vintage View is a reincarnation of an early endeavor. After much thought and consideration, I decided that my designs needed a fresh start and that starts with a fresh look and a new name. Vintage View Atelier came after several days of brainstorming and frustration, but I’m happy to say that I have found a name that both says what I need it to about my company and makes me feel confident in my designs.

Frequently asked questions

Made-to-order (MTO):
Garment made in standard sizes upon request. 50.00 place holder deposit required before construction begins; payment of balance required before shipment of garment.

Materials deposit required before construction begins; payment of balance required before shipment of garment. Mock-ups and fittings advised for best fit (locally or remotely). What if shipping works out to be less than Etsy estimates?

I am happy to check the actual shipping price on any order. If you'd like a more accurate quote before ordering, please email/msg me ASAP [be aware however, that this means items you're looking at are still up for grabs until the transaction is complete]. Or if you'd like to place your order to ensure you get the items that you wanted, I am happy to refund any excess shipping charges and will do so when the order is shipped.

What is the expected turn around time for orders?

Ready-to-wear:
Once payment is confirmed, orders will be shipped within 3 business days.

Made-to-order:
I aim to ship MTO garments within 1-2 weeks; however, this estimate may change due to volume of orders at the time of your purchase. Please wait for an email with an accurate estimate or email prior to your purchase.

Bespoke/Made-to-measure:
Due to the nature of bespoke, turn around can take anything from 1-6 weeks or more. If your garment is especially complex, it will take more time to complete. Additionally, fittings are suggested with any MTM garment, which is additional time.

I do my best to complete orders in a timely fashion, so please don't hesitate to ask questions about current turn around before placing an order.

How do I properly take care of my corset?

Please visit my care page here: http://vintageviewatelier.ca/care/

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to ask. I want your garment to last as long as possible too and that starts with proper care.

I just need one measurement to change for a MTO piece to fit me!

If you are just a measurement shy (within a couple inches) of a MTO corset fitting you, I am happy to make that adjustment without an additional fee; however, if more changes are required an additional fee will be added. In this case, I would suggest considering a MTM piece instead.

To let me know which measurement you'd like changed, please make a note at checkout with which measurement you'd like changed and to what.

Priority Shipping

***There is an additional fee and increased shipping charge for rushed orders.

I am happy to rush orders if they are needed by a certain date. In order for me to accommodate this best, I will need your address (so I may estimate shipping time), as well as the date for which the garment is needed. All rush orders will be shipped as priority/rush; however, I am not responsible for anything being held by customs and arriving late.

Though rush is not suggested for MTM garments (as fittings are suggested), I am happy to rush these orders as well; however, without fittings to ensure proper fit, I can only do my best to be as accurate as possible with the measurements/body photos given to me, but cannot 100% guarantee the most perfect fit.
