Plantable, Intentional Giving ❀

Hi! Welcome to Vita Beata Boutique where creativity meets eco-friendly!

My name is Allyssa and I have a passion for all things creative as well as eco/reusable/non-toxic! After years of creating my own cards for special occasions, I have decided to begin selling some of my pieces. Simultaneously, I have spent the past 3 years focussing on decreasing my waste and the use of toxic products for better health and a better environment. Luckily, these cards adhere to those lifestyle changes as they are made (in Canada!) with post-consumer materials and are fully biodegradable (no trees harmed in the making!). They have seeds embedded within them which allow them to be planted, creating a lasting keepsake in remembrance of the kind gesture of card giving! How sweet is that?!

Each of these cards has been designed and hand-drawn/painted by myself.

Be sure to check out our Instagram page:

Here are the steps you should take to make the best of the cards (growing the flowers!):

Flower pot
Good potting soil
Plantable card
Well lit area

Fill a pot 2/3 full with potting soil, patting gently. Make sure the pot is full, but not too packed. The paper can be planted indoors or outside, so you can decide which will be best depending on your weather conditions.

Take your plantable paper and place in your prepared pot. Spread a 1/8 inch layer of soil over the plantable paper and tamp down gently.

After planting the paper, give it a good watering. It should be damp but not drenched. During the first 10 days, keep the paper moist at all times. The water is necessary for germination.

Once sprouts appear, continue keeping the paper moist but do not overwater. Once the plants get stronger, continue watering as needed.

Upon blossoming, you may cut the flowers and transfer to a vase or just enjoy in the pot and if you have grown herbs, harvest and use as desired! :)

Unfortunately, we cannot be responsible for lack of flowers or herbs that grow from your cards. If planted properly with the proper potting soil, water and sunlight, they should grow!

We recommend planting only a portion of the seed paper from you card to start so that if an error occurs, you still have some remaining to try again! :)
