Underwater and Ocean Photography Worldwide
Siempre me ha cautivado la naturaleza y el océano. Así que en 2009, cuando probé el buceo por primera vez, me enganché de inmediato. Supe desde el momento en que tomé mis primeras respiraciones bajo el agua que quería hacer mi vida sobre el buceo ... ¡El único problema que tuve fue que no pude capturar imágenes del mundo submarino que le hicieran justicia! Las fotos siempre resultaron verdes / azules y carentes de detalles. Tenía envidia de las imágenes que ves en todas las revistas de buceo y en la televisión, ¡sabía que tenía que aprender a crear fotos así!
Avanzando rápidamente hasta 2014, había buceado mucho más, me califiqué como Divemaster y ahorré suficiente dinero para embarcarme en una misión para convertirme en fotógrafo y videógrafo submarino a tiempo completo. Me inscribí en un curso dedicado a la fotografía submarina, ¡3 semanas de puro tiro y buceo! Aprendí los conceptos básicos del uso de equipos submarinos profesionales y finalmente comencé a crear el tipo de imágenes con las que estaba contento.
Pasé los siguientes 2 años trabajando en Tailandia, vendiendo mi fotografía a otros buceadores y continuando desarrollando mis habilidades. En 2016 conseguí un trabajo de ensueño trabajando en los tours de tiburón ballena y mantarraya en el arrecife Ningaloo de Australia Occidental. ¡Estaba nadando con mantas y tiburones ballena todos los días!
Mi siguiente trabajo soñado fue en el Parque Nacional de Komodo en Indonesia, donde buceé en algunos de los arrecifes más ricos y diversos del mundo y capturé imágenes a diario. Allí tuve la suerte de mudarme al mágico Raja Ampat, conocido como "El Último Paraíso" y por una buena razón. Es el cielo, tanto por encima como por debajo de las olas.
Avance rápido nuevamente a 2019, donde obtuve un trabajo como fotógrafo en el famoso atolón Ari de las Maldivas, hogar de algunas de las mejores inmersiones en las Maldivas. Pasé más de dos años buceando y experimentando algunos de los buceos más increíbles allí.
Ahora, en un breve paréntesis del buceo, he decidido ofrecer algunas de mis imágenes favoritas a la venta como impresiones. Espero que algunas otras personas puedan encontrar tanta alegría e inspiración en ellos como yo lo hice al crearlos.
I've always been captivated by nature and the ocean. So back in 2009 when I first tried scuba diving, I was immediately hooked. I knew from the moment I took my first breaths underwater that I wanted to make my life about diving... The only problem I had was that I couldn't capture images of the underwater world that did it any justice! Photos always turned out green/blue and lacking in detail. I was envious of the images you see in all the diving magazines and on TV - I knew that I had to learn how to create photos like that!
Fast-forward to 2014, I'd done a lot more diving, qualified as a Divemaster and saved up enough money to embark on a mission to become a full-time underwater photographer and videographer. I enrolled in a course dedicated to underwater photography, 3 weeks of pure shooting and diving! I learned the basics of using professional underwater equipment and was finally beginning to create the kinds of images I was happy with.
I spent the next 2 years working in Thailand, selling my photography to other divers and continue to build upon my skills. In 2016 I landed a dream job working on the Whale Shark and Manta Ray tours on the Ningaloo Reef of Western Australia. I was swimming with Mantas and Whale Sharks every day!
My next dream job was in The Komodo National Park in Indonesia, where I dived some of the world's richest and most diverse reef and captured images daily. Fro there I was fortunate enough to move to magical Raja Ampat, known as "The Last Paradise" and for good reason. It is heaven, both above and below the waves.
Fast-forward again to 2019, where I secured a job as a photographer in The Maldives' famous Ari Atoll, home to some of the best dives in The Maldives. I spent over two years diving and experiencing some of the most incredible diving there.
Now on a brief hiatus from diving I have decided to offer some of my favourite images for sale as prints. I hope that some other people can find as much joy and inspiration from them as I did creating them.
