Announcement    Welcome to 2020 and thank you for your continued support for Webbies' Woolies!

Due to the Coronavirus pandemic we have to regretfully advise that there could be a significant delay in delivery times for international customers, so rather than 2-3 weeks it could take up to 12 weeks for an item to clear customs and reach you due to a backlog after lockdown, please bear this in mind when ordering and when leaving reviews, this is unavoidable and there is nothing i can do to avoid it.

Come on in and browse our collections of hats, toys, mittens, scarves, shawls, cowls, mug cosies and security blankets. There are loads of lovely sea creatures, woodland creatures, animals and dolls and teddy bears to cuddle, all made to a high standard using quality materials.

Liz will soon be making more items with the emphasis on traditional items like Fair Isle, Nordic and Shetland designs and of course more cute toys and dolls, including traditional Beatrix Potter characters and a collection of teddy bears with removable clothing, cute dinosaurs and lovable woodland and safari animals and a collection of sea creatures.

If there is anything you would like to see in our shop please don't hesitate to contact us and we will try our best to accommodate you - we're always more than happy to create a custom order for you, even if we don't currently have anything like it in the store!

All our materials conform to BSE standards.

Kindest regards
Liz and Tracy

Handmade wonders by Webbie's Woolies: knitted and crocheted with love, from our hands to yours

Webbie's Woolies is the part-time venture of a mother-daughter duo living in Hamilton, Scotland. While the shop (and associated social media) is run by Tracy, the items are made by both Tracy and Liz, and will be noted as to which items are made by whom.

Tracy is the daughter: graphic designer, knitter, crocheter and attempting to be a crafter and machinist. She's been knitting since she was young, thanks to her mother and paternal Grandmother, but only just recently (8 years or so ago) picked up a pair of knitting needles again. She learned how to crochet about five years ago by using her Google-fu, and applying heaping amounts of YouTube videos. She loves hats, fingerless mittens, and things that don't have seams on them.

Liz is the mother: a knitter of more than 3 decades, she made a great deal of knitted garments including hats, mittens and jackets/cardigans for her three girls when they were younger; she learned how to crochet about 14 years. Now she crochets hats, mittens, toys, cardigans, mug hugs... the list's huge!

All items in the store are handmade/handmade to order by either Liz or Tracy, as the item states, unless otherwise specified. We are fiercely proud of the time and effort we put into making our creations! Our home a.k.a our store room and production area(s) are both smoke and pet free.

  • Tracy Webster

    Owner, Creator, Photographer

Graphic design student at Glasgow Clyde Cardonald College; knitter, crocheter, typographer and all-round nerd. Skilled in sarcasm, and watching movies. Hasn't had a cup of tea since she was ten years old.

  • Liz Webster

    Creator, Dispatcher, Owner

Knitter, crocheter, all-round excellent coffee-maker. Owner of what is possibly the world's largest yarn collection. Far too little time on her hands for this, but every spare moment is spent creating wonders for all and sundry.

Hello, and welcome to Webbie's Woolies! We're a mother-daughter duo, living in Scotland, and trying to do our best to support ourselves during this recession by doing what we love: knitting, crocheting and crafting!

Liz is currently working on knitting and crocheting almost exclusively; Tracy knits, crochets, and is dabbling in machine work, paper cutting, and will eventually be introducing her own brand of hand-made cards.

Our general philosophy is to provide work to our customers only that we'd be happy to use for ourselves/our own children (had we any of the appropriate age [anymore! - Liz]). If it doesn't meet those standards, then it doesn't go out to the customer!

Refunds will only be paid on items that are in unusable condition (read: broken); all of our items will leave the house in pristine condition. If you can prove that the item was broken on arrival, we will provide you with a refund or a replacement.
Payment
We expect payment to be made within a maximum of two days of ordering, although we'd prefer it to be paid at the time of ordering. The only way payment can be deferred is if it has been agreed with us first, through a PM. We do not abide by cancellations, unless, again, you have PMed us first.

It's our aim to get your item posted out to you within 1 day of completion.

We do not use Royal Mail Track and Trace except where the customer requests it this costs extra and will be paid by the customer.

International customs charges will have to be paid by the customer; we cannot guarantee that our items will get through customs for free. If any of our international customers find their items are held up by customs, it is up to them to pay any excess charges.
