Frequently asked questions
Will you create me a completely custom design
I would love to. If you have a completely custom design or theme in mind that you don't see in our store, message me. I only accept 3-4 each month so I can give them my full attention. These slots often book up a month or two in advance.
How should I hang my sign?
Our signs come stained or painted on the back and with hanging hardware attached. Our smallest signs come with sawtooth hangers attached. Our larger signs come with a wire attached to triangle hooks on the back for easy hanging and levelling. Our signs are weighty so please make sure you are hanging them securely and test and tighten screws as necessary as they could loosen in shipping. Make sure you are screwing the screws of nails into a stud or something solid and able to withstand the weight (not just drywall). If you have concerns with falling, or live in an earthquake prone zone, we suggest purchasing some "earthquake proof picture hangers" at a store to hang your sign or replacing the hardware with a French cleat system.

What is the current turn around time?
Our turn around time is posted in shop announcements, it is typically 4-5 weeks for most items. We have rush orders available if you need your sign to ship sooner than that (within 2 weeks). A delay of a few weeks in confirming your proof can obviously impact turn around.
Can I send you picture to match my nursery?
Absolutely! I love seeing them and making recommendations. Place you order and then send me pictures in a message. if we are matching specific colours, it can be tricky over screens. We use Benjamin Moore colours mostly so recommend you get the colour card to confirm how it co ordinates with your decor in you lighting. Message me for the Benjamin Moor colour codes.
Do you charge per letter?
We don't! We decided early on we wouldn't. I have two middle names, we gave some of our kids longer names and so we choose not to. What you see is what you pay, no up-charges!
Do I need to KNOW my fonts and colours to order?
No! You should tell us your favourites for the first proof but we are happy to send more than one mock up and try out different combinations. We want you to love it!
Why is it called Wildcomb?
To us, Wildcomb means 'Beautiful Words'
When we were naming our business, there were two bible verses we wanted to use.
'Gracious words are a honeyCOMB sweet to the soul and healing to the bones'
'Consider the WILDflowers; They don't labor or spin thread. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was adorned like one of these.'
The WILDflowers symbolize beauty.
The HoneyCOMB symbolizes the sweetness of kind words

We will often post photos we take of signs we make on Etsy and social media. If you would like us to not post images of the custom sign we make for you or if you would like us to wait until after a certain date, please inform us when you confirm the order. We will not post photos you send to us without your expressed permission.
